I'm told they compensate by way of sending out orange special editions of the superocean ;) Seems we really missed out on something big there...

Actually I think compensation is by way of pink Ling shorts or something along those lines....just a rumor, but is what I hear. By the way...WTF does the "Facilitator" do anyway? Only thing I know is that he's always causing trouble and poking people..... :nana: :poke:, don't worry though if he pokes too hard his "Dick" wrists will snap....(Love ya Tom).

All kidding aside though, I agree that all forums should contain a full disclosure and minimum censorship. Obviously, there are instances where an Admin/Mod will need to edit/delete certain uncivil posts, but such tactics should be employed sparingly. Under no circumstance should a forum member be banned or a post be deleted/edited because the member's viewpoint runs counter to the rest of the community's "Lemming" mentality. I see nothing wrong if the maker is trying to promote their brands via the forums, as long as they are willing to disclose as such and be willing to take criticism in stride with the compliments. A properly moderated forum can provide a constructive means to gauge overall product line acceptance and customer service. (Hint Hint Breitling...are you listening?)

Not sure suggestions fit into the lemming mentality... do you really want to miss out on the panties?

Anyhow, I think crowdsourcing strategic product decision into social media, be it into a forum or anything else of that sort is something big brands could benefit from a lot. Jobs said, they wanted to make something which they really wanted to have and look where that took apple. I think we'll all gladly tell Breitling what we really want to have if they can't figure it out the apple way.

Just in case you're listening you folks from Grenchen/SO, what I don't want is pink panties.

Ive never really liked TZ, and one thing i hate about WUS is the sponsored forums. The mods have complete control about what gets said in there. If they dont like your opinion, they just delete your post. If somebody complains about a customer service issue...deleted. Pretty lame.

This place is the best. I barely even think of it as a breitling site since almost everybody here is so open to all kinds of different brands and styles.

WUS has turned into a joke. Ever take a look at the sales board there??? It's like a flea market of crap on there. TRF is a pretty solid place also, I like the conversations over there. I totally agree, I don't think of this site as just a Breitling site, the members here have or had watches of all brands from Breguet, to GO to JLC, to Omega, Rolex etc etc etc and that's just Shark alone.

On another note, today is my 2 year anniversary on Bsource :cheer: I can't believe that I've made it this long. I've had a few close calls but glad to still be around.

It happened to me on WUS. Plus I got a nasty PM for linking to BS.

I think, like anything else, watch forums are a matter of individual taste, preference, and attitude. There is a place and market for most anything. Our criticisms of many Breitling models, etc... may or may not be permitted on other forums. The focus really ought to be on the wide diversity and ability to express opinions we have here, rather than what other forums may or may not have or lack. I am quite sure the opinions expressed here naming other forums are given in that light - personal preference.

(I think I just threw my Breitling hat in some political campaign. May e senior class president)

I came to Bsource to look for specific info on a Ling, but have since learned and developed tastes on all sorts of brands based on the input and open discussion here. I guess I was just lucky this was my first watch forum.

Out of context quote from the thread.....

I agree that Timezone can be a bit harsh sometimes, but I think it has to do more with the individual moderator on each brand's forum. Ask too many questions on the patek forum, and you're banned. Just recently I actually saw the moderator on the Breitling forum say he didn't like one of the new models, I almost fell off my chair.
