Gents & Ladies,

I am looking at buying the Navitimer 01 Limited Edition #1383/2000 from a local well known and respected high end used watches trader.
I checked it out today, it looks in brand new condition, and I can get it for $4000 which seems very reasonable however it is missing the waranty booklet.
Everything else is there, serial number on the watch with matching COSC certificate, manual, limited edition certificate, boxes AND even the original stamped receipt for the watch from a local Breitling AUTHORISED Dealer where the watch was originally purchased from in July 2011.
All indicating that this was not a grey market sale.
Based on this and your understanding of Breitling practices - where does this watch stand as far as Breitling waranty is concerned? Theoretically it should have year plus to go.
At this price, should the fact that it is missing the waranty card be a showstoper for me?
I do not intend to flip it but rather a proud addition to my watches collection.

Very much appreciate your thoughts as always.

Cheers/Wessa.

Hi Wessa,

$4000 sounds like a great deal for a mint Navi 01 limited.
I saw a 18xx/2000 Navi 01 limited in a Hong Kong local second hand watch store a month ago for the same price. That one is around 85-90 condition, watch only. Didn't buy it because it is watch only, and bracelet is not long enough on my 17.5cm wrist.
If you decide to let it go, do you mind PM me the information of that used watch trader?

Cheers
Kircheis

That's an awesome awesome awesome price, BUY IT! Don't worry about the warranty book, if you have the original receipt with date of purchase on it, then you should be fine. If all the serial numbers match on the watch and COSC that's a good sign. You might be able to have Breitling print a duplicate warranty booklet, I'm sure Fear or Roff will know more about that.

$4000, if it's in good condition, I would buy it in a second without hesitation (as long as it's legit).

I'm assuming that it's calf with tang which makes the price less stellar, but a very good price nevertheless. The warranty book can't be replaced, but with a record of sale by the AD then you should be fine getting warranty work covered.

I will be checking the history of the watch out with the original AD as well as the local Breitling Distributor tomorrow to ensure all is legit. I have not personally had any dealings with this AD so not sure how far I get with them but I am quite pally with the Distributor as they are also the Breitling Service Centre and I had 3 watches overhauled by them in the last couple of months.
With several Breitlings I have become a bit of a celebrity with them, obviously they have not been reading this forum :-)
Lets see what they can do for me but in the meantime I was hoping to get some advice here in the interest of calming myself down and getting some sleep tonight :-) :-) :-)
You know the feeling when you are on the edge - should I or should I not...

Just saw Roffensian's post and I forgot to add it earlier, its on the original Navi bracelet.
I have a feeling you guys will be seeing pictures of it tomorrow ;-)

Wessa

On a Bracelet for $4k???? HOLY $(@#)@* You shouldn't buy it, it's fake. Give me the guys contact info :poke: (so I can buy it)

Do your due diligence and if all checks out then enjoy a great watch at a ridiclious price!

I understand your fears FEAR but has anyone seen a really good copy of the Navi 01 LE with all the engravings on the case, see through back case, the distinct looking in-house movement, COSC cert with matching serials, etc...
Granted, can never be too careful, will bring my TO LE with me tomorrow for side by side engine comparison with magnifying glass through the clear back case. Now that's a practical use of the clear back case :)

It seems like a really good deal. I have always been told, if it seems to good to be true, it probably is. It's quite new, missing paperwork, and if they are selling it for $4000, they likely paid notably less. Why buy a watch and sell it shortly thereafter for less than half the value? Maybe it is stolen or used in a credit card scam? I even saw a fake of a Black steel Black Bird. Anything is possible.

I'm not trying to be a naysayer, just saying be careful.

I would be more concerned with a suspect history (fraud / theft / etc) than fake, but assuming an Asian movement in a fake, check the edges of the plates, Swiss edges are beveled, Asian aren't.

Thanks Roff. I understand. BTW have you come accross a copy of the B01 movement? The original receipt from the AD?
Than again nothing surprises me anymore. I have lived in this part of the world for 15 years and one never ceases to be amazed.
Part of the fun of living in Asia, it is never boring :-)
Anyway, as I said I'll be checking it out with Breitling Taiwan tomorrow.
This well known used watches dealer does not seem to care much for Breitlings. It's all Rolexes, Panerais, Cartiers, Pateks, etc..
Breitlings in general do not do not enjoy the same reputation here. Its all Rolex, Rolex, Rolex.
Someone most likely just traded the Navi in on a Roloex or a Pan.
Will let you know how it "Pans" out.

don't expect the AD to tell you much. Dude just post some pics here, we can tell you in a heart beat if it is real. IF you are comfortable with the dealer's reputation, BUY IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!
