Well, I have finally taken the plunge; just ordered a Panerai 359 from my AD and it's winging it's way over from Switzerland as I type.

Until now I have never spent this much money on something that can neither be driven or lived in!

Been looking at the Panerai range for a while now but couldn't find the one that ticked all the boxes - until I stumbled upon this one.

And it's funny how they've grown on me over time...... A couple of years ago I didn't even like them!

I know what you mean. I initially hated the look of the PAMs, but they began to grow on me. Good luck keeping it to one of them.

Thanks to One and All; really looking forward to seeing it - only a week or so to go.....

One thing - I was unable to negotiate anything off the asking price - apparently they won't move on price for Patek or Panarai but other brands there would be scope to negotiate. I've heard similar for Panerai on other forums so wasn't too surprised especially since it wasn't a piece they were sitting on in the window.....

When I bought my Breitling I got some swag - does this happen with a Panerai too? Is there anything else I may be able to liberate for free from my AD when I pick up (legally of course!)?

Looking for advice from more regular watch buyers than I!

Cheers!

knocking money off panerai is pretty had. personally the best i have seen is about 10% off and then ship it from out of state. but the 359 is hard to come by so as long as you love it your fine

I got my 359 about 2 years ago and love it...so congrats on a wise choice :o

I know my dealer well and he gave me a terrific discount, but you're usually lucky if you get 5% off - if anything at all.

As far as swag - they sent me a beautiful leather and chrome keychain that is still in the box. Much nicer than the $10 baseball cap Breitling sent after I dropped $6,000 on my old ling :|
