There are two AD's in the Tampa area. One is excellent, the other comes acorss like a pretentious douche bag. What's really bad is that bad AD is a mod on another very popular wtach forum. I have been to his store multiple times and everytime feel like he has no time for me. I own three 'lings and am always looking for my next one. Very condescending and short.

In the distant past I was a retail jewelry salesman @ Bailey, Banks, & Biddle
on Long Island. They were unprofessional blighters who stiffed me on a com-
mission cheque because I resigned to become a Graduate Gemologist. I never
blew off anyone even when I knew no sale(s) would materialize. Many reps
have zero tolerance for gawkers who will not purchase anything. The prevailing
protocol is to quickly get the cattle to slaughter, or close the deal as effortless-
ly & expeditiously as possible. I subsequently became a G.G., & worked as a watch/
jewelry appraiser in mid-town NYC. That turned into a waking nightmare that perma-
nently ended my career in this field.

Now that sounds like a story and a half. Care to share?

I think I know which Pretentious Douche Bag Tampa AD you are referring to. Is that the one with a branch inside a mall? :D

Are like this. If I were you I'd hit up fear or govberg or another site recommended AD go from there. I bought my ling from Sam at Andrew Micheals over the phone and he was great.

Same here, got my airwolf from Sam and cant recommend highly enough.

:D Their very bad reputation actually precedes them even before you get to step into their 2 stores. Maybe I might start a thread in that other watch forum where he is the mod regarding a feeling high-and-mighty douche bag Breitling AD in Tampa.

I also agree with the others on this. I would just like to add though.......

If you don't let the owner/manager of the AD know how can they do anything about it? If they don't know then they can't do anything about re-educating their staff thus ensuring that this does not happen again. I'm sure you wouldn't want others to be subjected to the same appalling behaviour.

So, you made an appointment with the specialist salesperson at the store and he/she wasn't there to honour that appointment? That is extremely disrespectful and I would have been asking to see the manager there and then. Again, this is something that should be highlighted to the manager/owner.

The thing that all dealers are afraid of is bad press (especially on a forum like this). So, I would be tempted to give them a second chance to put things right and if they still fail - shame them here because it would be obvious that they aren't interested anyway. At least that way - nobody else from here would waste their time with this AD.

Finally, if they ARE actually an AD (Breitling APPROVED Dealer) I'm sure that Breitling would be interested to hear about this too. Breitling want their approved dealers to sell THEIR watches and in a courteous way - they would not be too impressed to hear of a dealer failing to keep appointments made and that the dealer was diverting valuable customers onto other brands.

Just MHO but relevant I think :D . Good luck with what you decide to do :D .

You are correct, especially this site which is considered like a Breitling BIBLE among many watch enthusiasts. I kn ow of a lot of people (friends/officemates) who have visited this site prior to making purchases at an AD.

When I bought my first ever Breitling (an SA) years ago, this was the site that I checked to get more info, reviews, feedbacks and recommendations. Getting a bad press in here will certainly be bad business for any dealer/jewelry store. :D

IF it is the large nationwide chain AD I'm thinking it is, I don't think they give a damn. Too big to fail, but it would be kinda fun if they did! :)
