These new Transoceans are pretty classy. They're definitely a step in the right direction, which is a way Breitling hasn't moved in a while. However, the M2000 counters the move slightly, as it's ridiculous. Unlike FEAR, I'm not entirely sold on the globe dialed Unitime, but I don't hate it. It's a departure from what I expect out of Breitling's style, but it's better than the DLC/PVD/rubber/bright color nonsense. The globe may grow on me.

I love the TO 1461. If it had an in-house; it would be a must have for me.

I'll wait for the in-house version, I can't afford both. If I could, I would buy it and sell it later for the in-house.

The 1461, and the new blackbird are all ling has left for me to love right now.

I will say, things are looking a lot better this year than they have in recent history.

It even has the days and months in english to confuse you too. :poke: :D

I love the 1461. Beautiful watch. I don't mind the globe on the Unitime but reckon I'd like it more if it was in outline, rather than opaque.

It looks like it will be around $9,200 for the head of the 1461. I just priced one out on Breitling's website and it was $9,920 on the croc and deployant.

I also priced out the Unitime with white dial and brown croc and deployant and got a price of $11,320.

$11k for the Unitime?? Holy smoke, that's a lot!

I honestly can't believe how many people actually like that globe on the Unitime??? I know it's each to their own and all that, but I think it's an absolute abortion. It's like drawing a moustache in permanent marker on the Mona Lisa's face! I love everything else about that watch - the size, the complication, the style (not a fan of the mesh, but it's looks great on a croco strap)......... and then they completely ruin it by sticking a stenciled globe on it. The black version is particularly awful.

I think I feel about the globe something similar to how Sergio apparently feels about the Ploprof - total incredulity about how anyone with eyes could like it.

absolutely agree, Driver8. the TO Unitime teaser did look great, subdued, a worthy revival of this 1950s grail (thanks for the pic, Rene).

it turned out to be a huge disappointment, crowded, garish and - for me - just plain wrong

As Fred said, after seeing the teaser pic I was hopeful that the dial would be a subtle, stylish, black on black map that sort of hinted at the global nature of the watch... It may grow on me but the blue globe is a bit too cartoon like for my taste. I like the TOC I've got today.

The QP and the 1461 are both exceptional IMHO. For the money though...I think I'm going to diversify a bit and try my first PAM.

Yep, good old Hank has been on design duties again!

I totally agree with you Fred that the 1950's orginal's understated country outlines looked great. Subtle, understated, and just... well.... cool. They even managed to ensure that the date window didn't encroach on the "barely-there" globe on the original.... unlike the great chunk out of the Playschool globe on the new one. I actually like that the new one is a chronograph, but the dial execution is terrible.

All JIMO of course.

Does anyone know what the contours are on the teaser pic ?, on the left side at teh 9 o'clock position it really looked like part of a map that has/had depth to it ? , I also dont see any traces of the chrono subdials on the teaser pic, or are we still expecting a non-chrono Unitime ?

Contoured dial, black on black , with the Unitime complication but without the Chrono ?
that's a piece I would like to see

If that is the teaser pic that Fred posted above in silhouette, you can make out the subdial at 9 o'clock in that pic....just barely

the TZ crowd seems to love it. Maybe we already infected too many people here w/ the vintage bug - subconsiously at least - so they are looking for refined, subdued, subtle, understated designs .....

problem is, Hank the Cod rules !
