Wife wants a new Audemars Piguet - Lady Royal Oak Stainless Steel w/diamonds, ref# 67621ST.ZZ.D002CR.01.

http://www.audemarspiguet.com/en/watch-collection/ladies/royal-oak-quartz#ref:67621ST.ZZ.D002CR.01

Would appreciate any thoughts you care to share, and in particular, your feedback on:
Is it critical to buy from an authorized dealer (US)?
I believe list is $12,600. What would be a very good price to pay for a new piece (US)?

Regards,
UE

Well An AD will give you a discount I'm sure ask them straight out what the best they can do is ,if they are inflexible reconsider this purchase try getting at least 25 %. Also the added benefit of a AD is your not getting a fake AP don't kid your self Craig's list and Ebay have been known to shelter more than one fraudster. 12 grand for a quartz watch that's a lot of loot what kind of after purchase service will they give you ? get it in writing if possible. Good luck with your hunt.

I looked at this watch for my wife- only the mechanical version, not the quartz. I normally am not an AP fan, but the smaller ladies version with the diamond bezel is tolerable. However, in my book, $12.5k is too much for a quartz watch. The mechanical version is a few thousand more. All in all, I just think the piece is overpriced. It's a lot of cash for a steel ladies watch with no complications.

If it's any help to you, these are the other watches I was considering:
- Jaeger LeCoultre: Master Compressor Diving GMT Lady (ref. 1898120)
- Blancpain: Women’s Double Time Zone (ref. 3760-1136-52B)
- Blancpain: Women’s Flyback Chronograph (ref. 3485F-1127-97B)
- Breguet: Ladies Type XX (ref. 4820st/59/s76)
- Glashutte Original: Lady Serenade (ref. 39-22-02-02-34)
