Whoa, looks like I'm in the minority here, but that red strap is just too....well...... er... RED for my tastes!!

I've got a pair of Tag glasses, the arms are the exact same red, the ocean racer strap would go down a treat with the glasses! Mind you that does sound a bit girly!

No not colour-blind... I was just trying to annoy you guys a bit. :)

I thought I was going to flash a pic of the coral SO with a red Ocean Racer strap on, but the red strap seems to have disappeared from the Japanese fitting site. Too bad. Or maybe not.

I'm within a few months from getting to pull the trigger again. I'm now torn between the old style or the new batons.

Yeah it's about time you pulled that trigger again Brian! We were getting concerned your trigger might've been getting rusty!

No seriously, whatever SA you choose it'll be a great piece.

A most interesting thread....I am amazed how diverse the views on the new dials are....and probably why Breitling is continuing both styles.

A question to ponder....which face style would look better with metal bracelets and which with leather???????

Can't say I am partial to the new style....but color me more traditional I guess....the red racer....ahhhhh I don't think so...but it would definitely get noticed.

Good discussion

I'll be purchasing based solely on getting one that is as different from my Emergency Mission as possible. I have a white dial with numbers, therefore going with a blue or black with batons. :)

And then I guess, to make it more different, you'll strap it with that new lime-green calf strap (taken as most people don't like the red Ocean Racer...)?

The batons are growing on me, at first I didn't like them at all.

I really like the same-coloured subdials, maybe that's why I'm starting to like the batons - these things all seem to give the face a cleaner look, especially in the black. This enhances the red highlights too, as others have pointed out.
