I just got back from a cruise to the carribean. While on the cruise I was talking to the cruise director who was from Switzerland and watch collecting is his hobby. He told me the swiss watches made in Switzerland for Switzerland are of different quality than the watches made for export. Does anyone know if this is true. He seemed very knowledgeable!

As already said, very silly statement for him to have made.

There is the Chinese Swiss watches...Chinese parts Assy. in Switzerland and marked as SWISS
due to the law about % constructed in Switzerland of watch value..Mainly seen In Invicta Swiss
watches. Maybe that's what he meant.

China does the same thing. They send the junk they make to the USA and secretly keep the "Good" Chinese stuff for themselves. :D
