FOR ANYONE INTERESTED IN BUYING FROM THIS GUY AGAIN:

I purchased the Rolex from weisenberger15 on 2/14 and sent payment that day on a different watch forum. He has YET to respond to any PMs, emails and I haven't received the watch. I found him today on this forum through the email he provided for payment. This forum shows when people view a PM. He viewed mine today and continues to not reply.

Unless you want to toss your money in the garbage can, I wouldn't deal with this guy. Notice how he only wants payment through Amazon Payments, Bank Transfer or Money Order. All three pretty much offer no help if you get scammed.

I'll post if the watch eventually comes, but regardless, this seller is terrible at communication and as of now is a scammer in my book

Check the feedback section. It isn't so good.

Look, i can say that is the same email he used with me in 2010. And I know you are in a tight spot and emotions run high, but your comments are way out of line. The website obviously made a privacy decision some time ago. I’m glad they did personally. You can’t expect the Admin from a site you didn’t purchase the watch from to provide private information. It creates potential legal liability.

More to the point, breitlingsource is as vigorous in pursuing scams and permitting comments on For Sale threads as any site, more than most by a wide margin.

I do understand your frustration with your situation, but this site and Admin are not responsible. And this site routinely and actively looks for and stops suspicious activities. It is commonplace. But the watch deal is NOT from this site.

As standard advice we always advise to do your due diligence before making a purchase. Simply using the email with Google is a place to start. Surely that doesn’t help you with this sale, but may in the future as well as any other new memebrs reading this post.

A couple of 'clarification points'

1) Admin (breitlingsource) did reply to the last missive from our new member

2) Moderators cannot see e-mail addresses, only the site administrator.

Just a heads up to all of you - on this forum you are on your own! Be smarter than I was and only deal with people you know because your mod will most likely not help in the simplest of ways like confirming a scammer's email address.

As a former forum owner, I can tell you that breitlingsource is right. He doesn't have the right to give you anyone else's email unless users explicitly agree to that in the privacy policy, and he would be liable for damages if he did. I'm not saying that would happen in this case, but if he adopted that policy of freely giving out information, eventually he would give out the wrong info to a malicious individual, and he'd be screwed.

Besides that, even if he agreed to give you the guy's email address, it would likely be a hotmail or gmail address that you can't track. All you could do is harass the guy with emails until he stops checking that account (if he EVER checks it).

It pretty much goes without saying that on ANY forum, you're on your own.

Sorry you got taken. I've had my share of bad luck buying online, too. It's an expensive learning experience. Oh, and thanks for the heads-up on the seller.

Sharkman its impossible to argue with what you have written. I completely agree. Emotions are running high, I'm extremely frustrated and I'm looking for help wherever I can potentially find it. I understand he cannot just reveal someone's email address, but I was hoping he could confirm if it was the same as the one I sent the payment to. I guess I just dont know what to do. I'm sorry if I've offended anyone with my posts. I'm just upset. I never meant to come on your forum and offend anyone.

If you used a credit card or pay pal to send the money, you can get it back. If you sent a bank wire or draft then it is a problem.

We understand. Read the feedback. So far on this forum even when this seller was very slow and unresponsive he finally delivered the watch. Have you initiated a PayPal dispute?

I did respond to the last email. I even BCC'd the mods on this. I even spent time googling around to see if I could find anyone by the username "Watchfan05", and I could not.. I just came up with a bunch of Watchfan2005.

BTW: Posting Private Messages publicly is generally frowned upon.

I actually missed the last line where you said that you said you had not heard from him since you made payment on 2/14.. i was reading the pm and responding on a tablet and I think I was having trouble with the scrolling. Anyway - I have apologized to you for that.

However - the deal did not happen on this forum, and I can't see a link to where your deal actually happened.. I would at least like to see the post and some sort of public request for a response from this guy before giving out his info. I have helped out plenty of people with what I can when the deal originates here and I know who the members are and I can see their track records. We have a feedback section where you can post about the problem, post some links to where the transaction occured, and discuss what happened in an open forum and allow the other party to respond. Instead you choose to ask me in private and I don't have any reference to any of this and you just signed up. And then you start posting in all of this guy's sales threads instead of making a post in the feedback section where this should really be.

You have no problem posting a private conversation between you and myself... but you don't even bother to post the discussions that took place between you and this fellow which is the true problem. I understand that your emotions might be high, but maybe you need to deal with this a bit more objectively and take the steps needed to resolve this situation instead of burning the bridges of everyone around you.

Things like:
1. Make a post on the forum where you actually did the deal with this guy.. ask for help from the members there that might know him and you better.
2. Post in the feedback section here about anyone who has done a deal with this guy.

I did all of those things. I truly apologize for making our PM's public, that was completely unnecessary. I will PM you the thread and forum where this took place. I'm sorry for stirring up trouble on your forum

I just now came across this thread. PM me with the information on the sale please. I have met this guy in person and sold him a few watches locally here in Dallas. I have his info and would be more than happy to help you out.
