no, Invicta is not an OEM either, so none of those classify.

OK, I see where I got off track here. I missed your use of the word "an." I thought you were saying Invicta watches are not OEM watches, not that Invicta, as a company, is not an OEM of its watches. Given that you had just said "pimped up" watches don't qualify, I thought you were distinguishing between watches one might hate for their aftermarket alterations (as shown by Montexn), versus watches a person hates based on how they leave the factory (e.g., the leopard Daytona), and that somehow Invictas fell more into the aftermarket camp. Classic case of inferring through context, and missing the specific language used. My apologies for that, and for taking us so far down this road. (I still don't see why Invictas wouldn't qualify for this thread, but since you meant it tongue-in-cheek, I guess that's not a point worth belaboring.)

As a peace offering, I would like you to have this Invicta apron. I tried to get Tom to trade his Breiling boxers for it, but he wouldn't bite.

peace offering gladly accepted JacksonStone, though I can not promise I will wear the apron ?

here is another one by a major watch manufacturer, maybe the baby blue background makes it worse than it is in the metal, but I definitely would never wear it - and it seems too small for Geoff, so hopefully I am not hurting the feelings of a fellow Breitling aficionado:

My main issue with Rolex (speaking as someone who has become quite fond of them recently) is that so many people wear them. So, I'm not about to encourage someone who dislikes them to change his mind...even though it's his loss.

It's slightly on the bold side, but I really can't bring myself to even consider buying a Rolex. I respect the technical aspect of the watches, especially the fact that EVERYTHING is produced in house, but 99% of people who own a Rolex wear it for the wrong reason . . . for the name. The company has done a fantastic job of market positioning and it's the go-to watch for people who want to boost their ego. The Rolex owners on this forum are not part of the 99% I'm referring to, so hopefully I don't start any flame wars over my comments. Everyone has a different view on brand perception and mine is certainly in the minority.

I used to not be so hot on Panerai, but have recently come around. I may change my tune on Rolex at some point, but I genuinely don't think one will ever be part of my collection.

We'll take it as written that nr123 thinks that it looks like a $10 watch and that I don't care

It's been my experience. I moved from disliking to dismissing to admiring and now desiring.
