I believe the street sweeper did the right thing tuning it over. I also believe that if no one claims it should go back to him

Agreed. Good Samaritan if unclaimed, it should go to the finder... It'll most likely go into auction though, won't it?

saw this article the other day on TRF. clearly the "right" thing to do is hand it in. i really hope the guy gets some sort of reward for this.

:yeahthat Agreed. As tempting as a free 21k watch might be, I'd struggle to sleep at night if I kept it or tried to sell/pawn it. I also totally agree that if no-one claims it it should definitely go back to the finder..... but I bet it won't.

My dad found a professional camera and turned it into the police. And guess what when he went back to see if it was claimed the POLICE kept it. :guns:

It would go back to the finder in most US states. The police are supposed to give him a reciept and the date to come back.

I think they should be looking for the body that goes with the watch.
I think if he was still alive he would have reported it.....So he, (the owner) is dead someplace :|
