Why "used to"?
Sorry Wrangler, missed your question last month. I stopped flying about 20 years ago simply due to the cost vs pleasure derived. I'd always wanted to fly and thanks to a very nice bonus one year, I had the spare cash available to learn. Once I'd got it, the challenge was over and due to the flying club going bust, the fees went up 3 fold and flying costs doubled. Just flying the minimum to keep my PPL current, I realised I could have a 2 week holiday in America so decided to pack it in.

Don't regret for a minute that I spent the time and money learning; absolutely loved it. Just wasn't so much fun flying once I'd got my PPL.

Too bad about the club. I know flying's quite expensive in Europe. I understand the licensing is more involved, as well.

Maybe it's just volatile pilots who fly them? It's certainly not as bad as the R22!

PA-28 is my workhorse, but I've also got my PPL(H) and building time in the R22.

They are very volatile aircrafts lol!
I'm looking to get rated for the R22 as well...since I trained in the R44.

Which country requires you to have a separate rating for the R22?

Don't I need a signoff to fly the R22 if I don't have any experience in it?

Which country? And a "signoff" isn't a "rating". Your reference to a "rating" made me curious, as I assumed we were not talking about the U.S.

As I recall, the U.S. requires 50 hours in type or 10 hours dual, plus a logbook endorsement.

Stude learning in DR400's, though haven't been able to afford lessons for a few months now. :(

I'm looking forwards to getting on with it again. :)
