By That rationale I'd have a navi by now, only had the keys a week and I've already been working on it for over 90 hours!

Well, its Sunday - and as promised here is the next update.
Been a productive weekend, got 90% of the stripping / rip out down now, all of the plaster is in skimmable ( if thats a word?) condition apart from two walls that I've taken back to the frame.

Now you see them
Image
Now you don't!
Image

Ive had the plasterer and the roofer round to quote for their work, the roof is a bit worse than first thought. The flashings on both stacks are gone, the lead in the valley gutter needs replacing as do the majority of the ridge tiles, but hey thats what contingencies are for right ?
This leak greeted me this morning :-(
Image

The bathroom has been ordered , along with the tiles, going for metro style ones in grey, from fired earth.
A bit of an indulgence on my part, but its only a small bathroom so hey, what the hell. The room is now stripped to bare brick, and ready to be started on once I've dropped the ceiling and built a false wall to house the mixer shower / toilet cistern.
Image

Id say conservatively that the bathroom will be done in the next two weeks.

Skip number 1 is pretty much full, will have to get another ordered this week i think.
Image

Thats about it for now really folks, will post some pics during the rewire this week :-)

Thanks for all your interest and encouraging comments so far, its appreciated.

Evening all, apologies for the delay in getting pics up, as you will see... i have been busy!
Got a fair amount on with work over the next few weeks so things may slow up, but will try to do as much as i can.
The major update is that the wiring is done, well, the cables are in - i still have the backboxes to chisel out etc. I have run cat 5 to every room also, so we can get a proper home network up and running.

The start!

All the power has been cut to the house until a proper spark comes to fit the consumer unit, save for one extension lead so this has been my temporary light fitting! :-D

I have also lowered 3 ceilings to make way for LED down lighters

All the bathroom stuff also arrived last week
here are the wall tiles
Image

floor tiles - post sealant
Image

and a front room full of bathroom paraphernalia!
Image

Here is the now totally stripped bathroom
Image

started with the boarding
Image

and the concealed cistern for the wall hung toilet waiting to go on!
Image

Ive got the heating engineers coming to do the new boiler on the 5th march, and the plasterers arriving on the same day too. Should be taking shape nicely by then, and fingers crossed work on the extension can begin shortly afterwards!

Small update today...
The room is now fully boarded, save for the bits we still need access to - and the walls that will remain without tiles have been skimmed.
Some tiles will go down tmrw and the bathroom will be finished by the middle of next week, leaving the grouting until after the extension to try and keep it as clean as poss.

How about "hydraulics"? Have touched the pipes? I know that it is a real pain in the a.. if you hit trouble with those.

The vast majority of the pipe work has been / will be renewed, so I don't expect any problems for a long time!

That's a very good thing! My parents had pipe problems in their house recently and they had to break about 40 sq feet of marble to replace them. They were 45 years old.
