Yeah, just a shame it's such an over-rated and pretty ugly thing though! :poke: :poke:

Personally for that kind of cash I'd go for something either by JLC (who are without a doubt one of the finest and most prolific watchmakers in terms of diversity of movements on the planet), or one of the newer (i.e. more classic and less polarising) Zenith El Primero models. The El Primero is a superb movement and undoubtedly one of the all-time greats, plus I guarantee you will hardly ever see one on someone elses wrist. In fact, come to think of it, I don't think I've ever seen a single Zenith in the wild on someone's arm.......

Of course not, they are all in for warranty repairs (which take months and months).

But I'm not bitter.........

 No (and in true "breakup" fashion) I can say that it's probably "not you, it's me"! Its just my warped opinion, and the billions of Daytonas out there would suggest my opinion is something of a minority view!

 Very good point Roff. It would explain why they are less adundant in the wild than Dodo drumsticks!

I wouldn't have too much indecision, picking the GO senator navigator chrono right away, if it wasn't for my crappy local ADs.... Idk if you guys here will remember, but a while back, I posted my experience at this AD in nyc and it was seriously top notch. Despite the tax hike up there, I do think it's worth building the relation early on (as I know I'll be a return customer :D ). The problem with the nyc AD is that they do't carry Glashutte :P

The JLC pieces have always appealed to me, but I don;t get why they don't have exhibition displays for any of the watches I like!!!!

Breguet is also a brand I have considered but I'll have to see the Marine big date in person to comment on them.

My favorite brand is probably ALS. If only they had cheaper pieces.... I believe entry level comes in at 15k? Somewhere around there... :P

Yeah who don't love Lange, but realistically they are NOT an everyday watch unless your in the corporate world. I would cry for days if I banged my new Lange into something hard while "hanging out". I suggest rugged, sturdy and reliable. Especially for your first real watch (and I emphasize FIRST).

I also wouldn't get to carried away with the MUST have a display back. Unless you get into JLC, GO and others in that range....the view inside isn't all that. For example my Panerai 312. It has a display back so I can see what is quite possibly the most boring/under decorated movement around! Now the Navi 01 LE I just sold had a decently decorated movement, but unless you wear it upside down.... you don't see it that often.

Though it doesn't have an exhibition case back -- but high quality German made ones are available, don't overlook the Rolex SubC.
