If your not concerned with the water resistant aspects, the Navi is a nicer watch and a little "dressy", but for me...the Panerai is a better everyday watch. I insist on having something moving on the face of my watches and so I would recommend the 111 over the 112, just for the moving seconds.

I would recommend a fiddy though, I tend to find the plain vanilla lumi a little boxy... A 312 would be a nice choice...

Bit more exotic price-wise though...
