The lume of my Seawolf bothered me so much I ended up selling it but thought I would pass this info along to any that might be interested in improving the lume of one of their time pieces.

Have you asked Breitling whether they are still prepared to service them?

How does the lume look in the SA bezel during the day? I would think it would be kind of cheesy looking. Tough to judge from the photos.

I have seen his work in person on some vintage pieces and he truly is an artist.

Geez he is only 3 hours away from me and does do good work. I assume the customer wanted lume on the SA bezel and the customer is always right, but it gives it a bit of an inexpensive micro-brand feel. Dial is great.

I may give him a shot on my SO with the 2008 dial and unlumed arabics. Could really add to the one thing I think Breitling missed on that dial, the arabics. It's not under warranty so what the heck?

My concern wouldn't be warranty - it would be whether Breitling will still work on it without restoring the original dial condition. They'll definitely insist on a full service for any issue as you can't d othe dial without removing the movement, but the last thing that you would want is an insistence on a replacement dial as a condition of Breitling service.

I do have access though to a Breitling certified guy at my AD. He gets Breitling OEM parts. Hey it's just a simple modified 2824. What could possibly go wrong. :)

Yes, the bezel re-lume is no problem, but the dial may give the owner a few headaches if Breitling take the moral high-ground on it when it comes to servicing. I would recommend a call to Breitling's service dept before undertaking anything like that.

However, that relume is a really nice job, and it does beg the question as to why Breitling (and plenty of other major brands) can't do a decent job on the lume from the outset. I've said it before but IMO Seiko absolutely murder most of the big brand names on the lume front.

I recall a video review of the CA or AS by Admin and one of his comments was Breitling should have lumed the white arabics. That is one thing I never understood. Some models - Fish, older SO, CSO, BB, even the Evo are nicely lumed. The dials with just the tiny dots of lume to bug me somewhat (except on the Navi for some reason), and Kurt's work makes it clear even those could be quite adequate if the correct Superluminova and amount is used.

Thats awesome. The best lume I've ever seen. My Ball has amazing lume but uses the tubes so it's not the same as a paint. However, that comes close.

I think the lume in the bezel would end up being scratched out by daily use. Not really a fan of it anyway; too much of a good thing. The dial's not bad tho.

Is the SA picture a before and after? If not, I wonder why we don't see the paint in the normal picture? Is the paint transparent in normal lighting conditions?
