You're about a decade behind the times, which is likely why you're referencing the Hercules which came out as a huge watch back in 2002.... I don't get how someone can be a huge fan then complain that the line is too big: Breitling is known as being at the bigger end of the spectrum.

Please go back to my post and show me where I complained that some Breitlings are too big. Please do. Because I did not. I also didn't say 44mm was too big, especially for Breitlings - I said, "the 44 GMT makes sense for the majority of the consuming public - 44mm is still considered a large watch by most." got that? "Consuming public", not Breitling consumers. In fact I've owned at least a dozen Breitlings in the 44-46mm range (I'm wearing one as I type this!), so your comment that I am "... about a decade behind the times" is plainly stupid. I'm not saying you are stupid mind you, just that your comment was.

When the Hercules was introduced - yes I know it was 2002! - it was a major step up in size for Breitling and considered a risk. But it worked. My point, which seemed obvious enough, was the 44-45mm size was not that long ago considered huge. And it is still considered large among comsumers of all watch brands from A to Z.

Look, you've been running around here for a couple months now misquoting people and then picking fights. I haven't said anything. Now I am as a member only - cut it out. It's boring. :poke:

I have to admit that i kind of like the idea of more 41-42mm Breitlings... until my wrist implants are inflated  . Oh, and i thought Tom's comments were on the money.

Not for me. 39mm - 41mm is the sweet spot for me, with my 6.5 inch wrist. Trends don't change the size of my wrist.

+1
Even 38mm is fine by me.

There's a reason why virtually every brand is moving to smaller watches - because that's what the market demands.

And if 41mm is bordering on female sized then I guess PP makes virtually nothing but women's watches.

As Tom said, consider the source - he's already had one warning for the tone of his posts.

It's not about the size of your watch.. it's how you wear it :P

I've got a large wrist (about 7 1/2 - 7 3/4) I've worn a 38 mm watch for the past few years and had no problems with it's size. Recently just got a 42 mm watch and a massive SA. all I think work well for their purpose.. If this being a 41 mm watch seems to have sparked a fire, and if half of people out there think it should be a larger womans watch then cool. And guess what. It's a pretty damn nice watch that most men would wear as well. So I guess Breitling hit the sweet spot with a watch that a fine woman would want to wear and make a man jealous. I'd hate to meet the woman who wears a super avenger  (I'm sure she's very nice though)

I am not looking to pick a fight at all, just pointing out that you are generalizing and assuming your preference is shared "by most". I know many, many people who find a 44mm more of a medium watch, let alone 41mm being tiny, but I don't assume that everyone shares that same view. Just like in everything in life, our forum members have very differing views and this is why I am surprised that you generalize the comments. If that was not your intent then that was not how I interpreted your comment, similar to how you think I'm trying to pick a fight with you.

Speaking of generalizing...

Everyone is entitled to their opinion, but there is a difference between incorrectly generalizaing and backing it up with facts. Maybe this is a regional difference here as to market demands but I have had many discussions with AD's in the west and they say "bigger is better". I too believe some are getting too big but "that's what the market demands". The best selling Breitling at one local AD is the SA. Yes I have it but it's just a toy to me and I'll probably get rid of it sooner rather than later because I think it's just a big chronograph and doesn't have much functionality, but this is my opinion and I don't think that just because I feel one way it is the feelings of the majority. Besides big Breitlings, I'm seeing more people wearing Corum's and at 48mm wide and 18-19mm thickness, and the list goes on with the newer watches from Cartier, Chopard, Bell & Ross' 46mm look more like 50mm++, etc etc., and I'm not even past the C's.

One part about this forum I like is people have their own opinions. This is what made me buy my Navi World because of the different strap that I saw a member here suggest. There are many head/strap combinations which people love but I don't agree with (such as many members loving brown leather/croco on a black dial, I tried it a few times with a suit, jeans, other options and can't do it as I'm the type that would never wear brown shoes with a black belt which is what I equate this too), but I like to read about the creativeness. What I don't agree with are members (not necessarily the ones in this discussion but I have seen many) who think their opinion is the only opinion.

I love when people make a comment and back it up with 'that's just my opinion' as if adding that caveat makes it ok. Almost like saying 'i think you are an idiot' but that's just my opinion, and since we're all entitled to our opinion, it's ok. Similar to saying 'no offense but I think you're a fool' but I told you not to be offended so you can't be offended right?

A 44mm watch is not medium size and your wrist size of 7.5 inches it not large, it's avegage. One of the top selling Breitlings everywhere is the SA and has been for a very long time, so what's your point there?? I can't read anymore of your posts, you annoy me.

If you're going to have a display back, they should spend a little more time finishing the movement.

Yup, guess that's why I haven't lusted for a display back - the watches in my price range don't really have the fancy finished movements. The GO and IWC you showed really do look nice. I would think Breitling could 'spiff up' their B01 a little more.
