You lost me there, unless you mixed up a flight computer (whiz wheel - type) with the EA-6B Prowler. We're lazy enough to use GPS for most stuff these days. Not that a road map would help, if it's IMC.

Whiz wheel for Mil.Spec.E 6-B. Flew Hueys and always flew I.F.R.(I Fly Roads)
Spent most of my flying time thinking I was lost. Have known pilots to land in a farmers back yard
or field and ask for directions. In combat I just followed the other guys.

Roads, Rivers, Railroads. My uncle knew a guy who would get lost without a road map, or without following roads. He navigated for the guy once, took him straight back to base, and the poor fella was scared the whole way, certain they'd never get home.

Our guys, I hope.
