These pieces don't come up for sale very often so valuation is very difficult. The problem with LEs like this that are essentially just a logo on the dial is that they don't add to the value, in fact they can detract from the value because they limit the market.

As such it's really 'just' a 2001 Chronomat, maybe $2,250 - $2,500 for the watch depending on bracelet / strap and service history. The model and extra stuff that came with it will add a $100 - $150 or so to that, and given that this is an insurance valuation you may want to give yourself a little leeway.

Having said all that, I'll add a disclaimer that I have been looking for this watch for some time so am not an 'uninterested observer'.

That's because the photo is not of the LE.

It looks like this (courtesy of Don Indiano's site):

I wouldn't hold your breath for a reply from the OP on this one : he hasn't visited the site since 17th May 2012.

FWIW I own #35 of this set of watches. I don't have the original box and my son damaged the lancaster plaque many years ago, but the last time I had it valued I was told to a collector it would be worth around £6,000.

Good luck with that!

One was listed on eBay at the end of last year for less than half of that and didn't sell. The guy then listed it here for GBP2,300 and withdrew it without a sale.

If you can find someone willing to give you GBP6,000 then get the money very quickly befoe they see sense
