Does this mean you pulled the trigger? If so, congrats. If anyone can pull off that sucker, it's you.

On another note, my AD has pre-sold all their new Colts coming in the first shipment..... I didn't see that one coming!
Hmm...well, if it turns out Breitling is gauging their market correctly, instead of shooting themselves in the foot, then I can only conclude I am no longer in their target market, and it's time to move on. I'm not quite ready to conclude that yet, but the fact that the Colts are actually selling is not exactly encouraging.

I did pull the trigger. My AD is like Don Corleone, and always seems to make me an offer I can't refuse. As for the Colts....I like them for a bang-up, SQ, tool watch. I did not think they were that popular though.

My AD has my Chronomat GMT on back order, as the black dial is the only model not in stock. Tells me it's very popular and in demand. I just like the black dial, silver sub combo. Gives it a bit of a more classic Breitling look in my opinion. 4-6 weeks and pics WILL follow! :lingsrock:

The Colts are not just selling, they sold out!

The salesman at the AD and I talked about the role of the emerging Asian market and how Rolex & Omega etc has always been big over there, and how we both felt Breitling is obviously feeling the market, primarily China & Hong Kong are too big to ignore now. Their line is clearly moving that way.

In a way you(we) are no longer the target market, as the USA is certainly falling in the amount of imports, but I wouldn't say we're completely cut; yet. There is still some room.

Everything I've read seems to echo what you're saying. We all know the $$ of Swiss watches has gone crazy due to the weak dollar. But as the Asian economies grow, the thirst for luxury items grows as well and they are a huge market. I've only collected high end watches (a watch more expensive than a G-shock) for about 9 years. Don't know how much longer it will last.

I think they will always make watches to appeal to the European and North American market, I just don't think that is all they will make in the future.
