I currently have only one piece, an Seawolf Baton on Ocean Pro. I am in the mix to pick up Datejust in the next few months for something a little less bulky. Anyways, on the subject of travel from other threads I'm also in the market for a $300 or so piece to travel with. I hate taking my Breitling off through security in airports, even though its not a super pricy piece I just really like it and it has a lot of sentimental value to me. It also would alleviate the thoughts of thievery in unknown cities.

So I wanted to see what ever one else used for travel or a beater. I was thinking a Luminox Navy SEAL COLORMARK 3050. I'm looking a decent 40 - 44mm case in Quartz since it won't be used a heck of a lot. Any thoughts on the Luminox? What are you guys using for the travel/beater watch and whats your daily Breitling? Curious to see how peoples travel/beater watch matches up with their favorite daily Breitling.

I use a blue faced Breitling quartz 1999 as my everyday beat around watch and a B01 for going out or on special occasions. You can get some used and fairly priced Breitling quartz movements on this site and the bay.

I was 13 when I got the watch, so it has a lot of sentimental value. I have only had to change the battery once in an 11 year span. Highly reliable.

Hope this helps.

I have two Luminox, both from the Colormark series - one with orange and one with green. For what they are, I like them quite a bit.

FYI, you can walk through security with a big metal watch on - just keep your arem straight down when you walk through the metal detectors. Do it all the time with an evo, at least in the US.

I can relate about taking off your watch through security as I am an international traveler. One way I found that somewhat reduces the chance of it getting swiped out of the little bowl was to put it in my laptop bag. I generally will put my phone and watch in my laptop bag since there's not much chance of someone running off with that.

As for a "Beater", my Colt Super Quartz II is my tank if working in the yard or doing construction projects.

I suppose I have a beater in my Tag Link Chrono, but I never wear it these days. If I'm doing heavy work, I just take the watch off anyway. If I'm going abroad somewhere 'iffy' I dont take a watch with me, although I do feel slightly undressed.
Daily Breitling...a fairly evenly spaced rotation, although at present the TO has not been off my wrist since just before Christmas.

I put my watch and wallet in my laptop bag when passing through security, in the hope that the bag would be more difficult to steal.

My daily watch is SOH Chrono 46mm. It is also my only Breitling :)

Gshock for a beater. You cant beat this thing, for a hundred bucks all the cool stuff it does.

the daily Breitling bounces between the GT ice and a chronomat Evo

For particularly rough situations I wear an atomic/solar G-Shock Mudman.

For less "beater-like" situations I tend to wear my tungsten Lum Tec M25 the most these days. It's just incredibly tough and stays looking good no matter what on account of the super-hard tungsten case.

In terms of my most worn Breitling, then it's easily my Navi World. There's just something about Breitling and the Navitimer range that just seems so right to me.

Try a TX Pilot Flyback or a Sector Mountain Master. Both are good and reasonably low cost.

Beater = SteelFish on Pro Diver 2 with deployant clasp

Daily Wear = SteelFish on bracelet, black calf with tang or brown calf with deployant

I bought it to wear it. A few different straps gives me different looks. Working on some new ones currently, but the few watches I have in the $200 or less range just sit no matter what since I got the fish. If I am working in the garage or cutting the grass I dont' wear anything.

Sector SK-8 does the job, and it was under a hundred.
For daily I have my Cockpit Two-tone.

The watch I wear most is my Super Ocean. ImageThe way it feels when I wear it is great.
