Here in Indonesia, brownouts are still quite commonplace. So I was thinking, what if after a day of meticulously wiping fingerprints off my watches, carefully setting the times to 10:08 withOUT accidentally winding the power reserves, taking lots of fun photos with my trusty digital camera, and... there was a blackout!! AARGhhhh!! No electricity means I can"t copy the pics to my PC to crop, tweak, and upload to share!!
But wait a sec!... My iPad2 has long-lasting battery AND 3G!! So today I decided to experiment withOUT using the PC at all...
I uploaded the photos to the iPad2 with Apple SD card reader, crop & tweak them with Snapseed, resize to 800 pixels wide with Photogene (3G remember?), upload with Photobucket for iPad, and use mobile Safari to share my experiment here!
I must say the iPad apps are extremely impressive. Not just for the novelty value, but for the intuitive, simple, yet powerful interface design which (for me) would be so much more complicated to achieve using the PC-equivalent photo editing programs.
Excuse the photos as I've spent more time playing with the apps than taking the pics (that's the main experiment after all...), but if you have an iPad2, hopefully it will encourage you to give it a whirl... Thanks for looking!!
