Well Im about to add my 3rd Breilting to my lineup. I have a Seawolf and Skyland right now. Im torn between the new Abyss as it is a total departure from what Breitlings used to look like which I like the old design but I also like the Steelfish X-Plus as it is exactly the design I like. I lurk on here and have learn a tremendous amount of info from here and appreciate it. So Im asking for your help. What are the Pros and Cons of them both.

By the way. Im looking at the 42mm Abyss with either Red or Black chapter ring and a Steelfish X-Olus with the White dial.

Ive had both (still have a yellow Abyss). If I could only have one watch, of those two id go with the steelfish. Considering that you have a Seawolf and a Skyland already (ive got a Skyland as well) though, id go with the Abyss. Seawolf/Skyland/Steelfish is just too much of the same, imo.

I'd go for the red Abyss. I like the Steelfish and currently have a blue one, but the silver dial version has never appealed to me.

Thats a tuffie. I own a silver dial SF, and an Abyss with white ring. I love them both about the same. But, if I had to choose one. I would take the SF, but those are the only 2 'lings I have. Since you already have a SW,...... I don't know. I may have to agree with RJ, variety is good.

RJ's on the money. You're big on the Aeromarine range. I'd be going for something totally different like a Navi or a Chronomat.

I agree, however this one is replacing some watches I got bored with and sold. I will be adding a Navi or Chronomat with the B01 movement towards the end of the year. Saving up for that one.

Thanks everyone for the input so far..... Keep it coming.

Steelfish all the way for me. I've had three over the years and wish I still had at least one of them!

TBH most of the pros and cons between these models are just down to aesthetics, so it's really whatever you prefer.

Personally I don't like the rubber bezel and the lack of a bezel pearl on the Abyss, plus I just fine the Steelfish to be more refined, and worthy of the Breitling name. Also the Steelfish is a little more versatile IMO as it successfully bridges the gap between tool and slightly more dressy - but that's just my personal opinion.

Given that you're going with Navi/ Chronomat later, Steelfish for me all the way. We'll still be calling that a Breitling classic in 20 yrs time.

While I love the SF I think the Abyss makes more sense in your situation. The Skyland and Seawolf, especially the SW are both pretty close to the Fish. If you were to sell the SW to help fund the B01 then I would say WhiteFish no contest. Good luck and enjoy no matter what you decide.

Personally, I don't think the Seawolf and Steelfish are too similar.

Get what you like the most.

Might agree if we are taling about a batton version of the dial, but I really like the SW and own a SF. When I tried on the arabic version of the SW I really liked it, but found it similar in the way it wore and looked. Battons does totally change the look, so guess I would have to say it depends on the dial. Still the Abyss version of the SO is quite a bit different from the Skyland/SW/SF.
