:) I have always been on the fence about the ploprof

It would seem self-evident, then, that you should keep the Chronomat. This goes beyond the generic question of Chronomat vs. PloProf. This is about how you will feel if you go through with the trade. You say you love the Chronomat, plus you already own it. Personally, I wouldn't trade a watch I love, even for another watch I really like. Trading a watch I love for a watch about which I am "on the fence" wouldn't even be an option. Obviously it's your decision to make, but my gut tells me you might end up regretting the trade if you went through with it.

Sell the B01 and use the money to buy something else, I'm just not a fan of the Ploprof.

It always amuses me what a polariser the Ploprof is. Personally I think it's one of the greatest watches ever made. Genuinely.

ok maybe thats a bit extreme. afterall im a young guy and still want some more kids.

on a serious note the ploprof is just too "out there" for a guy like myself.

In the interests of science, can we actually put that comparison to the test?

I would trade so fast you would not know it had happened. Plop is one of the finest divers ever made. period. The things are tanks and all business not to mention gorgeous guessing that those not in favor find them to dull or just not a fan of the style ? A lot of Breitling owners are bling fans which is why I choose Seawolf not a lot of bling for a B :)

I am on the side of ploprof too. Very different looking, cool history. I like something a bit more out there. No doubt the B01 fist more situations. Not sure I would have the ploprof as my only watch, but if you have more than one, especially another Breitling I'd be on the ploprof. Bonus points for the mesh bracelet. Not everyone's cup of tea but I love it.

Absolutely not. When Breitling housed their new B01 movement in that display back case and made it a Limited Edition, they weren't kidding. Try to find another after that one is gone. Besides being MUCH more attractive IMO, the Chronomat is most certainly more versatile in terms of wear for most any occasion. The PloProf is great for what it is but is the B01's 500M WR rating not enough for the average "most interesting man in the world"? Hold on to the LE Breitling with an iron grip. If the PloProf is truly attractive enough to you to make it a must have, start saving for one. Just my .02 worth...
Best,
Ron

Totally agree with you Ron.

But these two watches are soooo much different that it's down to personal taste. The B01 is much more unique. And classier. IMO.

If you follow the TV show NCIS last season Mark Harmon did wear the Ploprof he went back to his Planet Ocean orange bezel this season.
I own one of the original Ploprof's I think its about the ugliest watch ever , I never wear it, I'm holding it as an investment . But no I Would not trade the B01 LE for an Omega Ploprof ,even if I did't have one already.

From a practical standpoint... no...

from a true "I'm fascinated with the history and love what the Ploprof is and where it's been" stance... yes...

Thanks for the advice, guys !!

So after a lot of thinking .. I did go ahead and pulled in a Ploprof ..
And Boy ! It was the RIGHT FIRST OMEGA to have // love it nuts..

I always knew I wanted four icons in my collection .. so that got me thinking which one ??
Again some thinking .. and after going over panerai, omega and GO and a few others for my budget.. I really thought .. given my tastes.. what I needed is a chronograph to complete my collection ..
And Bingo ! The Chronomat B01 LE showed up in the threads yesterday ........ :) And I got it !!!

Will be here tomorrow [ hoping its in the condition as described..and i should be good to go ]

And so, my collection is complete to me --

Rolex DeepSea Sea-Dweller
Omega Ploprof 1200m
Breitling Chronomat B01 LE
Grand Seiko GMT SBGE001

Thanks much..guys ! and I am pretty happy to keep a key 'Ling' in my collection...

Cheers
nishant
