Oooooooooo, but he's wavering, he's wavering!!!!! :poke:

Looks like the year for this kind of thing : first me coming round to, and now actually liking the Chronomat B01  , and now Roff finding a Panerai vaguely attractive! Will wonders never cease!

To be honest I've looked at them several times to try and figure out what I was missing and could never figure it out, but the Basel announcements kind of intrigued me - some distinctly different looks and pricing that while not cheap is not ridiculous (if we ignore skeleton or equation of time tourbillons).

I think that's a good sign, and I like the move to all in house (although recognise that some may not see that as a good thing). I suspect that it will be a good few years before Panerai become different enough to appeal to me, but I'll go on record now as saying that if they produce a skeletonised 'normal' movement in a 339 style case I'll buy one.

I am not a fan of Panerai watches, borderline hatred.....but if they produced a skeleton face somewhat similar looking to their skeletonized tourbillon I'd be first in line to buy it. That one is a thing of beauty.

Great pics Roff and good review. I read about this piece somewhere, but also got to see it in person in Dubai. Very cool looking and more attractive in person as well. Grats on owning a piece of history and such a unique keepsake.
