So as some of you know I picked up a Chronomat 01 LE this year. I loved everything about it with one exception. I only mildly cared for the bezel; as many people here.

After having it for some time now, I absolutely love the bezel. The way it angles between the rider tabs, the way it slopes down from the sapphire to the case, even the font. Yeah I said it!

I love it so much, I don't want to take it off and wear my Colt Auto II anymore. I only want the new bezel now, I like it so much more it has ruined the old bezel for me. The old font and bezel now look dated to me so much so, I don't want to wear my Colt.

At one point I said I would always have my Colt as my daily and it was my first keeper.

How do I rekindle the romance!?!

Sell it. Once you don't have it you'll want it back.

That's a bold statement that's bound to be unpopular on here. However, your candor is appreciated. The Chronomat 01 was my first Breitling, so I never got attached to the old rider tab bezel. I do think the 01 bezel is odd, but I don't despise it like most do. However, I don't like the fact that Breitling is putting this bezel on a bunch of other watches.

Other than wearing it a lot more, I personally don't think there is a way to rekindle it once it's lost.

As soon as I lose the emotional attachment to a watch I personally find it impossible to get back. The only real example of this that I have is my old Bentley Le Mans. It was in mint condition and I'd had it serviced at Breitling, but I just started to lose the attachment to it. I tried to get the feeling back, but ultimately it was a lost cause and it had to go. Fortunately that is the only watch that this has happened to.

I've sold plenty of other watch and all have been for a reason, but the Le Mans was the only one I didn't have a concrete reason for selling other than a loss of attachment to it.

My opinion : once it's gone, it's gone.

I think you should sell it and save for a different watch you love. Another brand or a completely different line of product from Breitling. (Navi comes to mind.)

It depends: If You travel a lot, You should keep the colt as a travelling watch, if You are outdoors quit often, keep it as an outdoor adventure companion. It is still a Breitling, but if it gets stolen, damaged, scratched or whatever it does not hurt as much, as when that happens to the Chronomat.

Thanks very much gentlemen.

I might just sell it. I could probably get $1000 for it, and that can go to another watch.

I've read on another Forum, people wearing two watches, one right, one left.
Just a thought.

Thanks boogie,

I believe for most people the new bezel will take some time to come into it's own. I bet the execs @ Breitling had these images laying around for a while before they Ok'd them going into production.

Honestly this happens with cars for me as well. I prefer the existing model to the new one, a few years later I prefer the once new one, and the previous model looks dated.

The new fonts and the design of the bezel even more so grow on me daily. The new bezel without respect to the font, is miles and miles better than the old one. And i'm digging the new font as well. The new clasp on the bracelet is also better.

The Chronomat 01 to me is better in every way.

Couldn't agree more Justin. On all counts.

That said, have you taken a moment to vote at the B01 movement poll?
