Just reading on the IWC website that apparently ALL the Top Gun models will now have in-house movements.

http://www.iwc.com/en-us/news/2012-the- ... gh-flyers/

I'll be interested to see the "Classic TOP GUN collection : black and white with red highlights" mentioned about half way down the page - i.e. something like the existing Top Gun model, but with an in-house chrono. Could be very cool indeed.......

Wish they would make it in a 44mm. I like the silly little jet on the butt end of the chrono seconds hand. Looks cool.

If they make a ceramic 44mm Top Gun with in house movement then I'm all in!!!! As for the initial one that Mike posted. EWWWWWWWWWWWWWW so freakin ugly. I'm with driver, I love the original Top Guns very much, just wish it was an inhouse movement.

I couldn't agree more.

Absolutely, there's just something about the Daytona that keeps me from loving it. The Top Gun on the other hand, especially with a possible in-house movement is just awesome.

Actually yes. While I love the Daytona, I'm never going to get one. There is something so cool n sporty about the Top Gun model that I really love. I'm sure the new Top Gun's with inhouse movements will be over $10k which is NUTS so they won't be a consideration for me but the 44mm Ceramic Top Gun with ETA movement may be a possibility if I can find a preowned for around $4800 ish.

4800 ish for a preowned would be sweet. i like the idea of inhouse but i dont think that i am willing to shell out the dough.

in comparing the top gun with an inhouse vs the daytono (JMO) i would take the daytona.

I know this question wasn't directed at me, but for my 2 pence worth, yes I'd infinitely prefer a Top Gun to a Daytona. I find the Daytona to be a wildly over-rated and over-priced piece.

Yea double Chrono is in the 8's preowned. The 44mm can be found in low 5's preowned. I'd jump for one if I can get it in the 4's. I've kept my eye out on them for the past year. For 2012 I really want a pilot watch.

i agree that its over priced and sure the lack of a date is a minus as well. but if you ever got bored of it you would almost get back what you bought it for if you were to sell it.

Oh totally agreed. 100%. But I personally just don't like the Daytona enough to ever consider owning one.
