I just came across this IWC ,and have to say it looks amazing !!!! http://www.highsnobiety.com/news/2012/0 ... ore-229423. I have never once looked at buying a IWC but this one definitely sings to me.

The date window reminds me of the barometric pressure setting window on an altimeter!

Very cool looking piece.

I'm not a big fan of PVD watches but I do like that one.

The faked patina is nicely done as well.

An obvious question: Any idea on price?

I saw one of these the last time I was in Vegas, absolutely gorgeous. Just an awesome watch, unfortunately it was around $10k and that's a bit high for a watch with an ETA movement in my opinion. Still a really nice watch though.

I agree: Too expensive.

I must be honest, but I'm not feeling this one. I love the original Top Gun pieces (both the chrono and the ratty), with the exception of the price of a non-in-house movement, but this one just seems a bit "forced" somehow with the vintage lume and the green strap. Itr reminds me of a Steinhart or something. (Not that that is a bad thing of course, it's just not what I expect from IWC). Plus it's going to be way too big at 48mm as those Top Gun watches have quite long lugs.

It's ceramic, Mr Ricardo, like the older Top Gun pieces.

As of this moment no price point has been released to the public; moreover, from the original press release I believe the Miramar Top Gun is equipped with an in-house movement. Rest assure it is not going to be cheap!

Cheers,
Enezdez

Well that's good news. (Just a shame it's too big, undoubtedly too expensive, and not as good looking as the original Top Gun versions!)

Oops, my bad. I didn't click on the link because I'm on my phone and can't see anything on it. I didn't realize that it was a new one. If it's 48mm like Driver said that I have no interest in it. Wayyyyyyyyy too big.

I like the look of this piece but of course too large for me. According to the press releases, it has an in-house movement and ceramic case with 168 hr. power reserve. I'm speculating it is the same movement as the Big Pilot model (?) with added chrono function. This is one of five new IWC pilot models to be introduced at this year's SIHH. I heard rumors of a 41mm Mark XVII (?). Will be interested to see what is announced this year :) .

As reported on the IWC Propriety Forum the aforementioned watch is 46mm - the 48mm is the new Top Gun Miramar Big Pilot, which a photo has yet to be release anywhere unfortunately.

Cheers,

Enezdez

It's okay but I prefer the original Top Guns to be honest. It's too big anyway but I do like the in-house movement and power reserve.

This is the new Sa Black Steel version for IWC, I am just guessing its in the 10 to 12k price point.

Didnt the old one have that little jet on the second hand? I always thought it looked pretty silly. With the exception of the strap and the size, I like this new one much more.
