Since getting my Superocean chrono for xmas I've got the Breitling bug big time!! My question is what used watch is the best bang for the buck?? I'm looking for an automatic no quartz. Something that was fairly expensive new, but for whatever reason fell out of favor with collectors and is alot of watch for the money. I prefer chrono's but love them all. Age is not really a concern of mine, as long as it was a solid design. Thanks, Tom

Well that's a little bit of a 'how long is a piece of string' question. Bang for the buck is down to personal taste in what they are looking for in a watch and what I might think is a great deal others might feel is crazy expensive. Best bet is to look through the sales section, check places like eBay and Chrono24 and see what you feel is a good deal.

I'm new at this, too, and I watch completed sales on ebay to get a feel for the market on different models. That way I'm getting an idea what's a good price, what's too high, and what's too good to be true.

I'd say, with very few exceptions, the entire lineup is good value pre-owned assuming mint condition and boxes plus all paperwork. Every day I see mint Chronomat Evos still under warranty going for about $3,000. Super Avengers and Avengers for less than that. I could go on and on. Heck, you can pick up a Blackbird in the low 3s. Those all have plenty of bang for the buck.

i don't know know, cheapest super avenger on ebay now is like 3500, they seem to hold value best of all models to me. u say an evo, or my favorite watch, the crosswinds special is a killer watch for what they go for used

I'd have to agree with Sharky with the Evo, there's just so many of them out there that the supply seems limitless plus they're great looking watches.

I reckon the SOSF is brilliant value for the money. It's not a chrono, but you can pick up a brilliant watch for well under 2k.

X2 for the Steelfish. Cannot beat it for the price.

My picks would also be for SuperOcean Steelfish X-Plus and Chronomat Evo

:)

The Flying B meets all your criteria but I bet you don't buy one though!

I'd guess the Flying B is the least popular ever Breitling model. Hence the deep discounts new and, therefore, low pre-owned prices.

Actually SA's are selling for $3k and under on eBay, a white dial ended a few days ago for $2,850.
