I bought a SOH 42 back in July as a wedding present to myself. The misses got a Breitling of her own.
It's been a quiet 4 months in that I was content with my SOH. Sure, I have a wish list of watches that I'd like to add to my modest collection of one, but I can't afford it yet.

I am obsessed with the IWC Portuguese 7-day Reference 5001 and this feeling was only rekindled because my wife just added a Chanel bag to her bag collection and I'd like to spoil myself as well. It doesn't help when my wife also bought me a double watch winder. My SOH needs a friend in there.

Too bad we're not rich, but one day it will be mine.

her chanel bag is much cheaper than your watch. but if you love the 7 day IWC then you have to get it when funds permit. There a few members on here that have owned that piece and its a stunner. If you see a member named Mfserge ask him to post some pics. Hes owned the piece and its a stunner.

I don't understand her obsession with bags, but I'm sure she feels the same way about me and watches. Luxury items aren't meant to make sense and I'm okay with that.
A Chanel bag is not that cheap IMO. The one she bought was about 1k, but she's on the wait list for a $3900 bag which is going up 20% next year so she's in a panic to get it ASAP, so that adds up to about 5k. Still pales in comparison to the 7 day. I just hope she never gets into Hermes. At least she treats her bags very well and plans on passing it down to our future daughter.

If she is buying $4,000 handbags then you should have no qualms with a 7 Day which you can get for well under $10k after discount once you can afford it.

$4K? Those are watch dollars. I can understand comparing jewelry dollars to watch dollars but purse dollars to watch dollars? Holy cow!

edit- for your sake i hope that she never gets into Hermes too. some of my wifes friends have some of those bags and thats a whole nother level.

I feel your pain My wife got a Galactic 36 and not one but 12 handbags from Coach !!! she bought her own handbags with my loot oh ya I forgot and matching wallets.

Yup, that's the one. The M/L classic flap, quilted caviar with silver chain.
The way I see it, she can't get on my case for buying watches when she has so many expensive bags.
I guess I'm the one to blame since I bought her first LV in Milan, followed by a few more LV's, and then a couple Balenciagas. It's the least I can do because she dropped everything and moved to Poland with me for my expat job a couple years ago.
She even has a purse forum. It's like we're destined to be together.

I wouldn't mind a pre-owned 7-day, but I'm sure it'll be hard to find when I actually have the funds. Fingers cross that the wait isn't too long.

Just sneak a few of her bags out of the closet and sell them...viola! funds for the 7 Day!
