Hello everyone, I'm a relatively new collector and I hope you don't mind me asking a little help as I learn proper history.

I recently picked up a vintage watch advertised as a Marvin Wakmann, with a Marvin brand dial, a Wakmann case and an MSR P13 movement, purportedly dating from the mid-1960s.

Is there anyone who can shed light on whether Marvin ever used Wakmann components (or vice versa)? I'm curious to know if the watch (which I enjoy anyway) is original from that period, or a "Frankenstein" made from spare parts more recently.

I'll be eternally grateful for your expertise.

Thanks in advance!

Wakmann did act as agents for some other brands at different points in their life, but I have never heard of a Marvin connection so my gut says franken, but see if other people have seen any.

Apologies! It just seems like maybe it would attract more responses in the other forum. I can delete and re-post there if that would be easier!

This is the more active forum, and this is the more appropriate forum, otherwise I would have moved it.
