you just copy the link from your browser and paste it in your post:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/170745162750?ru ... 3D1&_rdc=1

if your are on an ios/android device, you use the "send per email" function and copy the link from there.

watch looks good, do not think the frankenfakers started to produce fake Sicuras, value is too low for this, they would have put a Breitling logo on it and called it a "rare vintage SuperOcean".

I'm not a Sicura expert, but I also think that it's real. Breitling in the listing title is rather misleading though as there is no connection between the companies except for Schneider.

These are okay watches, but you would be buying a sharp looking watch with a low-grade movement and a chromed case (this one looks to have been recently re-chromed). They look sharp, but cannot be considered a Breitling, since the original Breitling company existed when this watch was made in the 1960s or 1970s.

this is not true Roff. Breitling is Sicura and has absolt nothing to do with the old Breitling company in Genena

look in the official commercial registre of Grenchen swisserland:

Breitling AG Grenchen

previous company names:

- Montres Sicura SA Grenchen

- Sicura Uhren AG Grenchen

- Sicura Watch Company Ltd Grenchen

Quote:

Eintrag ins Handelsregister:
02.05.1955
Rechtssitz der Firma:
Grenchen (SO)

Frühere Firmennamen

Correct though. Sicura became Breitling after the name change. Just bought a couple of nos Sicura dive watches with the twin crowns. Good size watches simple but reliable movements and sort of have that funky seventies look to them. Got tangled up with Sicura's after buying a British Newmark (pic) for next to nothing from a crappy picture off ebay. When it arrived I could see it was supposed to have a turning bezel on it which was missing. Further investigation as to what might fit led me to see that Newmark bought some of their cases from Sicura so a Sicura bezel would work. Hence the new interest in these particular models as a daily wearer.

Well, at the risk of getting into semantics.........

When Schneider bought the rights to the Breitling name he decided to kill off Sicura as a brand and focus all of the attention on Breitling. Certainly a lot of the infrastructure and people who were previously Sicura became Breitling, but I stand by my original statement that drew the attention of our multiple personality friend - "Breitling in the listing title is rather misleading though as there is no connection between the companies except for Schneider."

Any Sicura branded watch dates from the pre modern Breitling era, and therefore claiming that there is a Breitling connection is misleading. I'll accept that there are Sicura brand watches produced after December 1978 when technically Schneider owned both Sicura and Breitling, but I don't think that any of us would say that modern Breitling really began until 1984.
