Nice one! I've been meaning to go for the last few years and still never made it on account of the cost and aggravation of getting there via public transport, and the general aggravation in terms of driving and parking even vaguely close to the place.

2012 could be the year, and 14 quid off is always a nice touch!

There are no passes. You just show you are wearing a Breitling to enter the hospitality area. Or an invitation card from Andrew Michaels (whose suite it is).

For info, RIAT have today launched a new page showing who's been invited, what's coming etc. Top marks for letting everyone know who they invited. Not their fault if they say no.

Can you please just confirm that this is correct Sharkmouth - the last time I spoke with Andrew Michaels (granted it was a few years ago) he was changing entrance to his suite to 'invite only'. You would no longer get in by showing your Breitling alone - now this may have changed again but I thought I would just raise this. Also, does showing your AMOC card qualify for entrance to his suite?

Perhaps your right. I did have an invite but seem to recall just showing I was wearing a Breitling to get in.

You possibly needed to hand in an invite to get beer tokens but since I was driving, I remember saying I didn't want any.

I think all UK AMOC members are sent an invite so not sure if that would get you in.

I'm sure Rick will be able to let us all know the rules for next year.

Thanks Sharkmouth,

I will probably be going in to Andrew Michael's in the New Year as the Airwolf is due a service/batt change. I will ask the questions while I am there and then post on BS when I find out.

Fairford is quite a distance away from me. The last time I went Mrs KMG and I booked a hotel break to coincide with the show and decided to go on the Sunday (we ensured that we didn't forget our invites to the AM suite), the foul weather on the Saturday forced the airshow to be cancelled and so that was that  ). As it is closer to us, we would really like to try to get to Waddington in 2012 - I know AM tries to have a suite there too.

For me, the highlight of any Airshow is to see and be part of a Breitling presence.

Well since I missed out in the Stone Roses ballot, I might be going to Waddo next year.

Half the distance but all cross country so not that much quicker for me.

Will wait to see if there's anything interesting going before deciding.

My brother and I will both be going again next year, used to do the whole Air Cadet helping thing at RIAT when I was younger but only started going back last year.

Cheers for the reminder, I'd forgotten when the early bird prices end, here's hoping for better weather in the morning next year 'cos I got soaked on Saturday morning this year  . :)

Well, it's been a few years since the last Air-show that Mrs KMG and I attended - due for another I reckon. If you do go to Waddington Sharkmouth, perhaps we could meet up for a short while? Perhaps discuss closer to the time if you decide to go :D .

I assure you guys there are Breitling RIAT VIP passes. They are on Breitling lanyards, I have several of them here :)

Here is a pic of one around the neck of Flt Lt Jon Egging sadly killed in an accident this year.

Yes, but they aren't the invites that Andrew Michaels sends out to B'ling owners whom he would like to invite to his suite. When I received invites from AM, they were in the form of a card invite (like a ticket). The kind that is shown in the link above (RIP Flt Lt Egging) are a VIP entrance ticket to the RIAT and not AM aren't they?

Nothing to do with AM as far as I know, in the past it's a VIP pass to the Breitling hospitality suite, and the 2012 version is the one I am after :) Likely to be the same this year.

I always manage to track one down some how, nick one for me if you can!
