Lots of questions in there.

Firstly, and before we get into any of your questions, I'd suggest you post up a couple of pictures of it so we can verify that it's genuine. Just from what you've said I have a sneaking suspicion it may well be a fake...... but if you post some pics we can tell you instantly.

If it's not genuine it'd only be a waste of your time for us to go into answering your other queries.

:welcome:

D8 voiced my concerns about the watch while I was typing my reply. Strange behaviour for a relatively new Breitling. Anyway, to answer your questions...

Age: Not sure if it applies to the Bentley range but on other Breitlings, there is a tiny code etched onto the case between the lugs at the bottom of the watch. You may have to remove the strap to see it. This shows the week and year of manufacture. In this example, week 14 of 2009. (B5 indicates the dial colour is black.) Edit - sorry for the typo, should read 2008 of course.

Value: Check eBay and Chrono24 to get an idea of value.

Stopping: I think the power reserve should be around 40 hours after fully winding so something is wrong. Putting the watch on a winder might mask the problem but not cure it. It needs to go to Breitling to be fixed.

Service: Recommended every 3-5 years so depending upon date of manufacture, it could be due.

As D8 says, it would be good to see a pic of the watch.

This should help -

Assuming it is real, then Sharkman's given the info you'll need to answer your questions.

Here's the pics and no doubt whatsoever in my mind that it's genuine. I've done a crop showing the date window to save you zooming in

Well the diamonds certainly reduce the number of potential buyers. No idea what it does to the value, you would need to get the diamonds assessed.

The first thing to check if it keeps stopping is the power reserve. Give the watch 40 winds of the crown and then put it down and leave it until it stops. Then see how long that is. It may be stopping after a couple of hours simply because it needs winding so let's eliminate that first.

I would think people would be more inclined to think it's fake with that bezel but it wouldn't stop me from wearing it if I liked it. But you definitely won't ever be seeing one on my 6.75. I actually like a little non-diamond bling so the stock bezel works quite well for me.

The diamonds would probably easily take care of getting a new bezel put on, and some cash towards the repair if it turns out you have an issue. Heck of a gift!

Congrats on the watch - as others have said it is indeed genuine.

I can't imagine the diamonds will lower the value, but as Roff said they may well put a lot of buyers off purchasing it. Anything that's non-OEM and a bit bling like that can be a bit off-putting to some. That said, the watch will still have a pretty reasonable value, and if the diamonds are good quality, they will have a monetary value on their own.

There's something definitely wrong with the mechanics though if it is only running for about an hour after a full wind. It's definitely a trip to Breitling. Incidentally I'm pretty sure Breitling will service it even with the aftermarket bezel, despite what some AD's may say. Certainly in the UK, Breitling don't have a problem with non-OEM bezels on watches sent in for service as swapping them out isn't considered an "invasive" procedure. i.e. by changing the bezel, the factory seal of the case isn't compromised. Give BUSA a call direct and just ask the question. They will probably be able to give you a ball-park quote for the work as well.
