Hi my first post....

I've already got an old Blackbird and Omega Seamaster but am now looking for my next Breitling.

My first choice is the new Blackbird which is amazing however I've also been looking at both the Airwolf and the Super Ocean Heritage both with the black face (like black faces)

Can anyone give me any advice and tips as to which they would choose and why?

Thanks for all our help and assistance.

It's all down to personal taste but the SOH 46 Black on the Bracelet is on my shortlist (of 3) so that's the one I'd go for.

That said - I'd probably be happy with about 70% of the entire range.

Not much help I guess but my 2 pence worth!

Have you looked at them in the flesh? That will help of course.

Oh and :welcome: to the looney bin!

Well, talk about 3 totally different models. The Airwolf is a quarz movement, so that depends upon whether you like automatic or quartz. Breitling probably has the best quartz movements, all COSC certified. The Airwolf also has a lot of pilot functions, alarms etc and digital readouts which may or may not appeal. Very unique turbine-shaped back, though, which is also apparently functional in some way for the alarm sound (kind of like a chamber). Also dual time zone. Multiple features, some of which I do not understand.
The SOH is an outstanding watch in my opinion, love the design and especially the black dial with the mesh bracelet. Tried and true Breitling 13 movement for chrono and 17 for non-chronograph.
Now, to my favourite, and also almost twice as expensive as the other two, with the recent price increase almost 7 grand: the Blackbird. My AD says, and I agree with him, it may not be a Limited Edition, but it is a very Special Edition, with a lot of exclusives: Faceted stainless steel pilot bracelet (regular Pilot's are not faceted), large date at 12 o'clock with a black background, I believe the only Breitling to not have a white background on the date, and the exclusive back with "Blackbird" in large letters across it. It is just such a gorgeous watch, and this year is available in all polished as well as brushed.
Anyway, that's my opinions. I will be very interested to see which you end up with.
Cheers,
Carl

I adore my Superocean Heritage, I've got in in black with the oceanracer strap, can't fault it at all. I wear the watch about 80% of the time. It's rugged, classy and sporty at the same time as far as I'm concrened.
Go for it!

Carl thanks for the feedback and indeed they are very different which is why its making the choice more difficult. I love all 3 for very different reasons.

When it comes to the Blackbird....which is my favourite its whether I can justify the additional cost of this against the other 2 which are both great also.

I love the SOH on the mesh strap....looking even better in real life!!!

Decisions decisions.......thanks for the advice so far its really helpful!!!

Blackbird.

The Omega is a common piece, and are mass produced. The Blackbird would retain it's value much better. Besides, the 'Bird is just sweet. Big date, and looks great with that big black dial.

Welcome!

Out of those 3 I'd go for the Blackbird. Sure, it is much more expensive, but I share Carl's opinion. Good luck with the hunt!
