I know eBay sellers can no longer leave negative feedback for buyers, so what's the risk in everyone doing what bentleyboi or shillbid does?

Rather than report the seller, what is the harm in just "buying" the junk, or reporting it to eBay but placing an outrageously high bid - so that even if eBay doesn't pull the auction there is no chance it will be sold to a victim?

Well it's a bit of a risky strategy. If you don't win the the auction, the innocent buyer could be paying even more for the watch. This is not an issue for BIN auctions. I personally wouldn't leave negative feedback for an established respected Ebayer unless I was sure they were deliberately trying to deceive.

There's no point in involving yourself that much. It's one thing to provide the service this forum does, but quite another to try to play superhero.

I feel bad for anyone who buys a fake because no one deserves that, but I also strongly believe in due diligence, buyer beware, if it looks to good to be true it's probably fake, you only get what you pay for... etc.etc.etc. I can't see how anyone would pay thousands for a watch and not be extremely careful, but it happens.

Hey, we have something else in common besides watches.... the working out part, not the hat! I have good genetics and made the most of it in my mid. to late 20s, but got away for a long time. But it eats at me and I'm only days away from going back to what I am calling a life style change that will hopefully last for good. I can't help but think what my 6.75 would look like on my wrist of the arm I had at 28. (I just turned 40) ..and if I ever want to live that now is the time because after 50 it will start to get much tougher... not to mention 50 is damn 50.

100% agree with that. You'd think anyone shelling out thousands would at least familiarise themselves with the model they're buying!

I'd like to know where Bentley_Boi etc stand legally as bidding constitutes a contract but one which presumably is void once it is established it is counterfeit goods.
