Both great watches, but different ball parks for sure. The DSSD is a class way above the SA, but I love the SA because of it's value to me. When I want a large, gorgeous chunk of steel, the SA is the answer. My wrist can pull off a DSSD, but I don't see wearing it with a suit. That's why I'm going for the Sub C as it wears larger than 40mm, and looks great on ANY wrist in ANY attire IMHO. But do what you gotta do! The DSSD is truly gorgeous.

Good move you will love the Deep Sea. I used to change watches like clothes. Had a couple of chronomats then got a bronze Motors, then a black 6.75, Panerai etc....and none of them lasted over 2–3 months before being sold. Never quite found what I was looking for until I saw the DSSD. Granted the first time I put it on at the AD I scoffed at the silly taper on the bracelet but mostly I was going through sticker shock looking at the hang tag with the price. 11k for a chunk of satin stainless steel. Ouch! 2 months later my good friend got one so I asked if I could try it on. Long story short it's been on my wrist for over 14 months and counting and although I've added a Daytona and a few other watches to the watch box, which were promptly shown the exit the DSSD is not going anywhere. Wear your watch in good health and post pictures.

Congrats...I think you will be very happy once you get the DSSD. It's a fantastic watch for someone who is used to the size of the SA!! Please post some pics when "she" comes in.

if you can do it, do it its a no brainer, the DSSD gets price rises more often than a kid gets a cold, you'll never loose on that one and if you like large watches which it looks like you do then the DSSD is a great choice.

Diamonds? Good move. I'd sell it immediately if not sooner.

yeah keep the black SA and sell the diamond for the sea dweller, then you got a bigger sa and more lowkey sea sweller that's always good.
