Just picked this up. Looks good to me and don't think they make a good fake abyss.

One thing I noticed was the caseback isn't completely screwed down so need to get that sorted. ImageImage

There are fakes of this model, the lume dots tend to be poorly applied

Watch is real, haven't studied casebacks of these enough to comment on that.

Roff, as always, your input is much appreciated. Thanks guys!

I'll take it to an AD to double check the caseback but I'm sure it is fine, the guy I got it off was very nice and genuine but I always like to double check any purchases I make here with the experts.

I'm tending towards fake. A few of the lume dots are blobby. The cross of the 4 on bezel looks too fat and the corners of the hour numerals don't look sharp enough.

Interesting... another..

I'll go take some macro shots now if you're still unsure... All the 2,3,4,5 etc... small lume dots arn't flat, they are raised. As there are no fakes documented I have no idea what to compare it against.

Yes the radius of the corners on the dial numerals definitely looks too big in that shot. The same applies to the numbers on the bezel .

I dunno.

That caseback looks pretty darn sharp for a fake.

can you give use a macro image in natural light, both straight on the dial and at a severe angle to show the dial numbers - particularly the 4 and how raised it it?

These pics suffer from poor lighting plus enlarging them messes up any accurate detail. The caseback is good and I don't believe it isn't fully screwed in. The bezel numbers look good. Date window and date font are good. Hard to tell with these images if the hour lume dots are poorly applied or it is just the lighting. The 4 on the dial does create a bit of concern, but again it could just be the pics.

What's the serial number? The fakes I've seen use the number range 1342xxx

I'll try get some more pictures now... 1 interesting thing is that the weight is 104 - 105 grams... on BS it says 99.7 so 4 grams off... although not sure if BS is definitely correct. my SA weighs in at 154 so scales are good.
