Dear Breitling,
It’s been beautiful; it really has. Walks on the beach with the Evo. Classy nights with the Navi. Getting rough and ready with the Steelfish. We were good together. But I’m afraid our romance is over. The spark is gone.

It’s not me. It's YOU! You used to be so beautiful but you’ve let yourself go. These “enhancements”. This silicon (ok rubber, but go with me). These chunky diamonds. I thought you were an early Sophia Loren. But you’re an aging Kim Kardashian. I wanted clean, classy and classic. You’ve become an instrument that is now a “pro”.

100 words on the dot. I agree it would make almost no sense at all the Breitling; but it would be fun to send!

This is good, but I'm not sending a pen to Australia! The shipping for the hat was twice what they go for. Sorry - New Rules. :nana:

I've decided to emigrate to USA. I'll miss the sun, sand and family but at least I'll get that bloody pen!

(With an echo) – After further review, the call on the field is reversed. The Rule clearly states, “In 100 words or less” and the player exceeded 100 rules.

That leaves 5 submissions – mfserge, Budlum, Jdr18017, Novacastrian, and RJRJRJ.

RJRJRJ is disqualified (though I love the concise comments) because the rules called for “constructive comments.” Budlum is disqualified also, because sarcasm (my favorite thing) is not “constructive.”

That leaves mfserge, Jdr18017, and Novacastrian.

Novacastrian’s woman metaphor was somewhat poetic and the best overall submission, but the progression from moonlight walks on the beach to “working ladies” may off put the more stodgy sorts at Breitling. (Of course the stodgier they act, the more likely they are to leave the office for a date with a pro, but that is beyond the scope of this contest.) Moreover, there are those who may take it literally, leading Breitling to perceive a new market segment and adopt perfume infused rubber bezels.

I really like mfserge’s opening submission which set the playing field. Also Jdr18017 (the “Vinegar Years”) was spot on.

Insofar as my mind is not working very well and I cannot decide, the match is declared a draw. Mfserge and Jdr18017 please PM me your info, and a pen each will soon be heading your direction. I will ship using the new start up carrier - Turtle Express. Expect a nice Christmas present.....in 2012!

The ball belongs to Arizona. FIRST DOWN.

I know, I know. One foot inbounds and the second right on the line. If they are making me enforce the rule.... :popo:

"Being a part of military aviation, I would like to see the new version of the Emergency. Many military pilots love them, but the upgraded version with a GPS beacon would be a great addition. I would also love to see a Blackbird with B01 movement, and perhaps a smaller GMT chrono of some sort. Brushed finish watches have a unique look, and I also think adding ceramic bezels to the Super Ocean line would be fantastic!"

Thanks,

don

THAT has given me an idea!

Dear Breitling...
New ideas for bezels to complete your line up.
The marshmallow bezel, the cartoon character bezel: Porky Pig Avenger anyone??!!, the Michael Jackson memorial bezel (slides very smoothly but best not left around small children), the fake skin bezel (blends seamlessly with your arm!), the diamond encrusted bezel (oh, sorry).

:uplaugh: How about a lollipop bezel so you can lick your watch? Blackberry or licorice anyone?

That could be an LE version of the Michael Jackson though. I know how much they love their LE's.

Paraphrasing Ferris Buehler, "The contest is over. Go home."

A shiny new pen would have been nice, but hey, at least I got consideration! What a shame though, I threw away my favorite pen from a vendor recently, hoping to have kharma intervene for me. Oh well, maybe next contest. I washed my fingers and everything to make a nice clean new home for the pen.

Since I have a pen I'll donate mine to flange. I donated my last victory pen to roman so I'll keep the tradition going. Flange if it's ok with shark you can have mine.
