Hi there,

Im going to an auction in the weekend where a Chrono Avenger is up for sale. The watch does Not come with papers though. The auction house is a reputable company so if the watch is a genuine, I will still have a go at buying it. This is the picture they have on the website to view, and I can't helping thinking that it doesn't look right. I will view the watch in person on Sunday anyway but would love to know what you think.

Any thoughts? Thanks :lingsrock:

:fake:

Pearl is too big
Sub-dials too close together
Sub-dial markings are wrong
Lume dots are blobs rather than flat

It's a cheap quartz fake.

Thanks mate!!! It was the "big pearl" that initially raised my suspicions. Even on the case... if you have a look at the 30 and the 45... The 3 looks funny and the 4 doesn't look right. I bought a navitimer world from them a couple of weeks ago which Desco S A Australia authenticated. This Avenger though, doesn't come with papers so maybe the auction house don't realise they are about to sell a fake

Yeah, that pip is a fat bugger. Also the rider tabs are misshapen and the bracelet is a shocker.

Hi Mate! Thanks again for confirming my suspicions. I went to the viewing today and sure enough... it was a fake, a really bad one at that. And guess what the serial number was... 642347

I took the owner of the auction house aside and told him and to his credit, he immediately withdrew the lot from the auction.

Thanks again!! :D
