It all started off stupid enough...by stupid it was me not remembering to put it in the safe before I left to go play golf. My breitling chrono evolution was stolen out of my hotel room in Las Vegas. I reported it to the police and the hotel but according to the hotel no one was in my room so i guess my watch walked out on it's own. I was devastated as this is the only Breitling I own. It is a black eye blue dial n a black croc strap. Serial number is 2357844. I didn't know where else to turn so thought I would try here. I bought the watch from George at govbergs per the recommendations of this site. I have all the boxes and paperwork just no watch. If anyone sees it out on the web for sale please let me know. I also posted a pic...

It's a pretty uncommon dial setup, so members will remember it if they see it pop up. So sorry to hear what happened.

Not a terrible idea.
Sorry to hear about your watch. I will keep my eye out for it.

The pawn shops have to hold items for a period of time (30 days I think) and report to the police. The holding period gives the police time to recover stolen goods and check with the identification presented at the time of purchase by the pawn shop. I'm sure that there are shops that work outside the rules, but the police will at least add the details to the list of stolen goods that they circulate.

If you report it to Breitling they will monitor if it is ever sent for service as well.

You have filed a police report in Vegas I hope. It can be essential to recovering it.

It was about 3 weeks ago when it was stolen. I had been watching eBay but didn't see it.

The hotel was not helpful. They knew someone was in the room but said they do not have personalized room keys for staff just master keys for janitors and house keeping. They basically shrugged me and the police off. It was handled all wrong by them. They also do not have cameras in the halls but they do everywhere else in the hotel. The police officer said it happens often but most hotels do not assign specific keys to each staff member since turnover is so high it is cheaper to have master keys.

That's messed up, what if someone got in a fight or worse in the hall...

Or stole my watch out of my room. They said they do not have cameras in the hotel halls for privacy reasons
