Just wondering what opinions you have regarding Alain Silberstein watches. They seem to have some very interesting complications and even more interesting designs. Some (some)of his watches really interest me (I doubt I will buy one anytime soon though). I believe his watches have highly modified ETA/ Valjoux movements.

I'm personally not a fan at all. "Style" over substance for the most part IMO...... and I'm not much of a fan of the style.

They do a couple of tourbillons at the higher end, but generally they use pretty much unmodified ETA/Valjoux movements across the range. Not for me.

this is jmo but these are the ugliest pieces of **** i have ever seen. i am sure some people like them but to me they look retarded. maybe its the fact that i dont have a huge collection so whatever i do own i want to be classic and timeless. personally i think that there are other brands that are more funky that look WAY BETTER!

Aren't the Alain Silberstein watches suppose to be either renditions of and/or interpretations of Kandinsky paintings?

Well probably not a huge surprise that I like a number of them a lot.

I wouldn't buy one of the 'ordinary' ones, but came very, very close to buying a 'piece unique' tourbillon earlier this year for a very good price.

see in your situation i can understand. im sure your collection is larger than my 4 watches. so adding a piece like this gives you that "unique" look.

I can't look at them without thinking about Play-Doh.

Super fun watches. They use an off the shelf ETA movement, forget which one. One of my holy grails right now if I could find the one with black cloisenne.

Got to be confident of who you are to wear these. If you have attained that state of togetherness, its one of the most fun watches on the planet.

The pushers remind me of a PS2 controller.

Anyone who buys one definitely doesn't care what anyone else thinks! Because they would think why is that guy wearing a toy watch, and to me toy watches, and those that look the part, are deal breakers. But if you wear colorful running shoes with an expensive suit, perfect!

My kids have gotten toy watches in their happy meals that look something like this.

These are a no-go IMO. I don't even know what you would wear them with...
