Selling Fakes/ Replicas Breitlings is tolerated on Ebay for Top Sellers??? I have reported some obviously fake Lings/Accessories being sold on the Bay before and yet it keeps being relisted over and over again and nothing has been done because the seller is a Top Seller and brings in a lot of FEES?

I also wonder why they allow the sale of certain accessories like the Yellow Breitling Plastic Tag which should never be allowed if it does not come with the watch!!! :guns:

eBay will remove items for high rated sellers - it happens every week in the replica section here. It just takes a higher number of reports and often eBay gives the seller a chance to remove of their own accord.

I have no issue with hang tags, boxes, etc. Only things that I take offence at is COSC and Warranty, no legitimate reason to buy those unless you are trying to defraud. Everything else (including hang tags) can be bought by legitimate buyers to complete 'a set'.

Because ebay is too big to fail. Short of banning, which evidently takes quite a lot, they have little to no oversight. They don't care because they don't have to care. I stay away from ebay.

Indeed, but the plus side is that if you know what to look out for, there are bargains to be had! :D

Because of the sterling work of this forum, I'd say the vast majority of Breitlings on Ebay are real. There is still a problem with vintage pieces from China and Argentina though.

Despite its faults, Ebay is infinitely better at removing fakes than other sites such as IOffer and Gumtree.

:yeahthat regarding the modern pieces; I really think we get most fakes removed, lately ebay has improved dramatically (Australia is still a bit slow) and it rarely takes more than 2 days to get ebay (or bentley_boi  in the most blatant cases) to act.

the vintage story is dramatically different, China & Argentina are easy, almost all pieces offered from there are blatant fakes, but Turkey and Italy are similar and a very large percentage of "vintage Breitlings" offered from the US, UK or Germany are at least questionable, many are outright fakes.

It's garbage, as are 99.99% of Argentinian vintage Breitlings - many, many threads in the vintage sections on Argentinian pieces.

I assume that the best bet is to report it to eBay as a fake now and advise that you aren't going to pay. That's really a question for eBay.

You can refuse to pay.. and if you refuse there is no need to claim anything as you are not out any money. The seller will either choose to file a mutual cancellation or file a non-paying bidder, usually if you hold out on negative feedback they will do the former, which is beneficial to you. Post the negative feedback later. If they want to file a non-paying bidder then you will get a strike, unless you complain back and explain your case successfully. A strike is not a big deal unless you have a couple.

Just contact the seller, send him a link to this thread, ask him to comment.

The watch you linked to is clearly fake, no component resembles an authentic Breitling 3-hand, there is no model reference number on the caseback as any authentic Breitling of this period would have, neither the watch nor the movement ever came close to a Breitling workshop.
I am sure the seller will accept to cancel the purchase.
