Here's the 765 AVI I bought last week. its has serial number 1015xxx which dates it to 1965
Not only is it a great watch but it came with a lot of goodies, more than I expected !
and I believe this also puts to rest the "There was never an original Breitling mesh bracelet, and the ones offered on Ebay are all fakes" as this not just came with the mesh bracelet , it also still has the invoice for the bracelet attached to the invoice of the watch !! cost of watch 357 DM , cost of bracelet 74 DM (Deutsche Mark)

It even came with the original (used) lizard strap that has 'Breitling' embossed on the inside , barely readable but still there

so here are the pics

I guess that that was indirectly addressed to me.

It definitely shows wear, which is important for me in my judgment, regarding originality / being vintage.

It looks like it’s a 20 mm (and not a 22mm like there is in-between the lugs), does it say anything on the inside ?

And just for the record, I based my opinion on all of the ones in the previous discussion (22 mm’s), on all of them being brand new, with no signs of wear at all, and that (my opinion) hasn’t changed.

Furthermore the clasp on yours is shorter then on the ones we discussed back then, would they have made them with 2 different length of the clasp ? Of course they could have, it just doesn’t make sense, at least not to me.

Can you show me a side by side picture from front & back of one of the ones in mention in this post viewtopic.php?f=11&t=27802 and the one you just bought ?

Oh, and by the way - a beautiful watch and a rare full packet that came with it.

Hi Kurt ,
I have made the pics from the bracelet that came with the AVI and will post them later today
A real side by side comparison will be hard at this moment but I will see what I can do

My hope was that it had been Champion, H C or a G F stamped on the inside, as they all produced bracelets back then for different companies, unfortunately its not.

I won’t go into a discussion about originality of your bracelet, but if the invoice is correct, and it really is the invoice for that bracelet, (I have no reason to doubt either) then I can see no reason to claim that this bracelet is not “original”. . . . ! !

Kurt,
It actually surprised me as well but it only has 'stainless steel' on the inside , where the other I had and a HC brand inside like in the picture attached

regarding the originality of the bracelet , the name on the watch invoice matches the name on the bracelet invoice and those match the name on the warranty papers and they all look like they have been folded together for the last 40+ years . I have no reason to doubt any of them :)

the seller did not show any invoices in the auction pics but names both the buy date for the watch and the date for the bracelet
http://www.ebay.nl/itm/270831030736 , so again I have no reason to doubt it
