I'm in NY today and had a few hours to kill in between meetings, so decided to go for the two mile walk (I know I can take a subway, but rather walk) to the Breitling store. I get in the store, with the door opened for me by the nice doorman, and see a man and woman salesperson, Benjamin and Jane.

Of course, I'm hoping Jane approaches, but Benjamin does. In case he happens to be reading this, why did you do that?!?!? Anyhow, really nice guy, very knowledgeable. I wanted to try on a Breitling for Bentley Complications 19, or as he told me, the Mark VI. Very nice watch, he knew a lot about the watches, explained the differences between the leap year version and the regular one, was in no rush.

After I leave, decide to cross the street over to Tourneau, the Breitling salesperson, was very easy on the eyes, had nice sparkly lipstick, attractive face - but knew nothing about the watch. I said it has a moonphase, so she looks in the case "oh there are none with moonphases"....seriously?

Now the ugly...I go down to the service area, ask the service guy a question and come back up - different salesperson at the Breitling counter. First I ask him if there are any Breitlings larger than the World, he says why don't you look in the case and see (EXCUSE ME?????) - okay not a huge deal, I don't like being spoken down to, but anyway, after I ask him about the Complications 19, he asks me if I would have any problems with a preowned Mark VI, I tell him no. He then takes me towards the back of the store where the preowned watches are and says "sorry, we have only one in rose gold, that most likely will be outside your budget." HOLD ON - I never told him my budget, so of course in my arrogant defense, and yes, I do regret saying it because it was kind of mean I told him "Interesting that would be outside my budget, considering I probably earn your annual salary in a week" - I know that was mean to say, but that statement he made just got me :guns: :guns: :guns: for a lack of a better term.

Anyhow, needed to vent.

Nothing like a little humility.

Yeah, I though that he meant that's what the rep was referring to - full name being Mark VI Complications 19

Breitling person told me it's a Complications 19, on his business card he wrote Mark VI.

Guy at Tourneau said they have only used Mark VI in rose gold.

Complications 19 is not the Mark IV?

There are three Mark VIs - regular Mark VI - chrono with date, Mark VI Complications 19, adds moonphase and semi-perpetual calendar, Mark VI Complications 29 replaces semi-perpetual calendar with full perpetual calendar.

The Complications 19 that you saw the picture of in the replica section a week or so back and have said that you are interested in was not produced in rose gold.

The Mark VI Complication 19 is the nicest of all the Bentley watches and probably the single nicest Breitling ever made IMO...gorgeous.

His diction and attitude make me think that muchos lols are forthcoming. Good stuff!

I couldn't tell you, he didn't actually show me the watch, just said there was in rose gold. Too bad you weren't in the store with me, you could school them (and me) on Breitlings.

LOL - I try not to take myself too seriously, granted the Tourneau incident got the best of me.

Hate to burst your bubble, but capital 'S' is generally reserved for recognised or important people. Knights, for example.

You don't count.

Hence, 'sir.'

I was being polite.
