What.A. WATCH! By far the best made watch I have ever owned, the fit and finish is simply SUPERB!!!! The detail on the dial is out of this world. I am talking damn close to Patek good!!!! The materials used on the dial and raised numerals are perfectely chosen and aplied to contrast, a symphony of silver, white, off white, and black that is nothing short of ART.

The movement. Oh my God the movement, the seconds hand glides along, even the chrono seconds hand looks like a divers seconds hand its so smooth. The visible movement is nothing short of what you would expect from watches 6 times as expensive. Blued screws, decorated bridge, hand engraved lettering, the works. Again the most well decorated movement I have ever owned.

The chrystal and AR are what I would call "good". Not incredible, I love the clasp but the leather band leaves me puzzled. I don't know if I love it or hate it, its certinely....shiny. Has a very unique look to it, will have to see how it looks after a few days wear when it settles in.

Sorry no pics yet, will do some today. Watch this space.

Still waiting for my AD to try and get hold of an Open Grande Date to look at. I think the problem with the straps is we've been spoiled by Breitling - the best in my opinion. My pet peeve is that a watch of this cost uses a regular tang strap with a deployant.

Definitely looking forward to the pics - congrats on a great addition!

Take a look at all that detail, this pic shows the different decorations used in the dial:

This and the Oris TT1 I ordered a couple of days ago are going to be my last purchases for a while. I am about to start renovating my home and with that as well as my watch related expenditure this year I might as well have taken the year off work :?

Truly beautiful.

Definitely need to get myself a Zenith this year - I hear you on the $$ - this has been an expensive watch year already, and I was just getting ready to pay the balance on the Legende and pick that up but now have another option on an LE Breitling which is tempting - too much choice!!

That is an amazing watch Altair, and incredible value for an El Primero. As you know I have my heart set on an open version, but even there I can't believe the value they offer - especially considering some of the revised Breitling prices, and I can't help thinking that an El Primero is going to hold its value better (although of course that's not why we buy them).

Thanks guys.

I dont think Zenith hold their value very well, neither do Breitling. So I do make sure I love a certine model before I buy it. With Rolex I just get it and decide later.

Agreed on the value front, I paid 4600 for that piece of art  It actually replaced a MOP Chrono Evo on leather I was contemplating. The fit and finish as well as the movement are another class entirely. Very happy with this purchase.

I hope you get that Open Primero soon, really are stunning watches!
