well, as long as you can´t get to drive the new M5, maybe an authentic M5 USB key ?
seriously, on offer at the IAA, according to Der Spiegel

My contact (read special prices) at my BMW dealership's Original BMW Accessories just came back from vacation and notified me that it had arrived and it is really cool. :cheer:

A very useful addition to this one compared to the non-M USB key is a USB cable which you can fit on the USB key before using it on the USB port. The key being so large/thick compared to normal USB keys, it prevented other USB keys to be used simultaneously in parallel ports.

I have never heard of anybody saying their range rovers and jaguars were reliable. :o

never said that, I wrote "reliable and sturdy COMPARED to my last 735i." this one was in line with the average Trabant.

actually my first Range (1989) was quite reliable and the current TDV8 is a pleasant surprise, 50,000km and three years without the smallest hiccup (now that I said that, both the suspension & the automatic gearbox will disintegrate tomorrow). Would rather not be reminded about the others in between.

did not ! would never lie (knowingly) in this forum.

but was the proud owner of the BMW lemon of the century: viewtopic.php?f=10&t=30160&start=45#p247436 which made my xj6 shine in comparison.

Haha, funny how this turned. I purchased a new M5 in '05 and it was a complete lemon. BMW had to take it back (no lemon law here either, just a lot of bitching on my end after it was in the shop 25/30 days a month). I've always heard bad things about Rover's, but we've had a Sport and HSE that were two of the best cars we've had. I think it's all luck of the draw really.

Granted...I never keep a car long enough to really see if any problems persist down the road though! I flip cars faster than watches.

Hmm, guess im not very good at using these quotes. :?

Either way, I did not mean to bash your cars, I was just speaking from experience. I am an auto wholesaler and my company sells roughly 500 - 600 cars a week at the manheim auto auction. And usually the ones with the most problems and the ones that are always arbitrated are british cars.

I spend all week buying cars getting ready for the auction, and i can say im usually weary when buying most british cars.

- Range Rovers commonly have transmission and suspension issues.
- Jaguars seem to always have a check engine light on, and always seem to be leaking oil from somewhere.
(I haven't had any issues with any of the newer models yet. I have had a few XJ-L's, a ton of XF's and a bunch of XK's with no issues.)
- Aston Martins with the paddle shifters ALWAYS have transmission problems.
- Bentleys have a very large range of electrical issues that costs entirely too much money to fix.

Though to be fair, i could probably go on for hours talking about problematic cars from just about every country...

preimel, did not feel you were bashing my cars, am rather unemotional about them and know their pros and potential cons. used to love my sporty BMWs, liked my Porsche 928, was crazy about a Citroen 2CV and a Renault R4, remember the XJ6 fondly, was even crazy enough to drive a Citroen SM for some time (untrue, own for some time, rarely worked).

At a certain age (and probably heaviness) the Range just started to "feel right" and the current V8 biturbo Diesel engine - something you probably rarely see in the US - finally gives it a perfect engine.

Yea, i heard about that. Unfortunantly Range Rover said they will not be supplying the US market with these.
They probably figured we would just export them all anyways... Which we probably would.

Admittedly with the limiter off, but nice pic anyhow with the rev counter not even in the orange:

I currently have an XJR - never had any issues with it...I don't trust it in slippery conditions though.

I used to own a 735i back in the day - had lots of issues with it.................lots of issues.

Next car - probably sometime in 2012 - BMW 760li....will sell the XJR.

I seen the title car in the flesh last week. Metallic Monte Carlo Blue. WOW :supereek: UNBELIEVIABLE.

Even standing still it looks amazing. A lot meaner looking that the outgoing version.
