Can anyone offer an opinion on this brand... well made, reliable, waste of money, etc...

I saw a new model at the AD and it really caught my eye. For the price I could buy 4+ of them for the same as 1 B-ling. Or better yet, I could get 40+ for the same price as the Jaeger LeCoultre that I'd really like to have.

I remember when I was younger I used to think they were "cool" - not so much anymore. I don't know much about them, but ......... it's what you like that counts.

I still am learning about watches, and still trying to learn what makes a particular watch cost what it does (for example how much are you paying for craftsmanship vs just the name), you know?

I understand. I'm in the same boat- learning...

I come in here and read as much as I can as often as I can and I've made no less than 10 trips to some ADs in the last 6 weeks.

I know that a portion of the cost has "quality" factored in to it but the other portion is flat out branding. You can not convince me that the 400k for an Hublot means it is so much better than some other brands.

So much to learn and not enough time to do it...

The JLC will be 40x better, period. Look at re-sale on a RW and see where you end up. It's comparing Rolls-Royce to Chevrolet in the 1960's. There is no comparison.

RW is a pretty low end brand. Get the jlc. They aren't even in the same leaugue.

I own a RW tango Stainless and gold square full size Quartz never given me a lick of trouble always get comments on it ,I really like the Nabucco chrono style automatic expensive looking and for what you get reasonably priced.

My first "expensive" watch was a Raymond Weil Freelancer 2720-ST-20001. I loved it. The fit was superb, it was a nice understated design, the arm sweep was lovely and smooth (I'd only owned a quartz before it - not even knowing what that meant at the time) and it made me feel good when wearing it. I now own a new PO with the 8500 movement and the difference between them is night and day. The fit is so good I don't know I'm wearing it, the overall feel is just head and shoulders above and the accuracy is incredible. I'll hold onto the RW because it has a sentimental attachment, but otherwise I'd recommend saving those pennies a little longer.

i own an 2-tone parsifal quartz model. i have never had a moments issue with it aside from the occasional battery swap. i think the brand is overlooked and under appreciated.
