Any thoughts on this vintage Rolex. I'm interested in a non-auto dress watch that I could wear occasionally and I love the way this one, although a little small, looks.

I think they offer some decent watch for the money... very affordable and I like the fact that it's manual wind... (yes I like to interact with my watches) a bit small by today's standards at 34mm but if size isn't a matter for you, I think it would make a wonderful dress or "on occasion" piece....

the only thing I've read about these 6694s is that with the threaded crown being unscrewed often for the winding, maybe some extra wear and tear on the screw thread on the case a little more prematurely than auto Rolexes... Just read about it... probably mostly paranoid guys talking nonsense though...

if you don't like it, they're fairly cheap to flip and you can move on with another piece...

I love the look of the 6694 and will get round to picking one up one day.

White/silver dial will appear larger on the wrist than dark colours.

Nice one!

Not if, like me, you've a 6.5" wrist. I used to have an AirKing which is the same size and it was fine for me. Agree it would look tiny on an 8" wrist.

I'm at 7.5" but I'm willing to give it a try. Not sure that every watch I have needs to be big. We'll see - I may find it too small. But a beautiful watch though.

I've said befoe that I don't get the whole size thing. I have 7 3/4" wrists and wear wintage watches in the mid 30s all the time. If I like the watch then I like the size - if you like this watch then you'll very quickly get used to the size of it - especially as it's not likely to be a watch that you wear with a muscle man t-shirt.

Enjoy!

I am a little stuck on the size as it is smaller than I'm used to. I'll have to see if it grows on me. Haha. Beautiful face though.

^ Without a doubt, it's the clean, simple look I was going for; I just wish it were a little larger. It's in unbelievable condition though for a 40 year old watch.
