It was announced at Basel, but there are a few issues still to resolve and this is just another typical Tag LE announcement way before the product is ready. Just like the V4 Monaco where they took orders several years prior to being able to deliver the watch the one at Basel was a one off prototype with a chronograph power reserve of 2 1/2 minutes (yes, minutes).

I have a very hard time believing that they are anything close to a production ready piece just 6 months later.

to me that means that failed. but i feel as though they are attempting to expand the watch game and take it where no one else has yet. give them a thumbs up for trying

Oh give 'em a little credit Roff! It's an automatic movement - you just need to keep it moving and it's got infinite power reserve

Well to be fair, 2 1/2 minutes is still 150,000 beats - could you do that with lego?

If he really believes he can, yes. The same way if I really believe my RealDoll is real, she is.

I don't understand this....if they are showing the piece, and it works, then doesn't that mean they can just make more of it? Can't someone buy the one that was shown in the video?

Also, the white hand that has the point on the end of it or whatever it's called - what increment is that moving? Seems after a revolution of the subdial (is that called a subdial??) - the hand moves, but thats more than a second...

There is a big difference between a prototype that can be demonstrated for a few minutes and then returned to the watchmaker for all kinds of adjustments and fixes and something that can be sold with the expectation that it will operate flawlessly for an extended period of time. That's nothing to do with watches, that's the same with any product ever developed.

Subdial is marked up to 5 seconds, then the hand advances by 5 seconds on the inner main dial, which totals up to 2 1/2 minutes.
